The sky is blue and I so wish I was off to the beach today.

My favourite beaches in this country are at Bigbury on Sea in Devon and The Gower.

One of my favourites overseas is Myrtos beach in Kefalonia.

I'd like to try a new one in the UK this year. Which is your favourite ?

Treen Beach at Porthcurno in Cornwall. There are 3 separate beeches and the most secluded one is also a nudist beach. Also the Minack Theatre is set in the rocks nearby

Fistral beach in Newquay holds fond memories for me. Kids in their wet suits body surfing etc, me sat under a brolly in the rain watching. Brrr! Funny, how that summer (torrential rain for 2 weeks) is the one we all remember.

I want to go to Cephalonia (it's on my bucket list as my mother was born there) but it would be on my own and I just haven't had the nerve to book yet.

It's a beautiful Island and you'd be ok on your own. I always felt very safe there and the history of the Island is fascinating. I've been twice and would definitely return.

Personally our favourite beach in the country and you can easily feel as though you're abroad on a hot summers day, truly stunning beaches and worth googling. We also like Bossiney beach near Tintagel, you have to wait fir the tide to go out but when it does you're predented with a clean untouched beach, a very nice beach indeed and bonus is you can pick some fresh mussels too.

Such a beautiful beach, especially along from the golf course. If only we had some consistent weather, I've been when it was 20 degrees plus a few times!!

In Tenerife, just outside Costa Adeje towards La Caleta walk over the headlands - a fantastic golden sandy beach called Hermanus! A nudist beach, some locals even live in the beach huts and caves! Well worth a visit!

good choice, Porthcurno is gorgeous! Bedruthan Sands on the North Cornwall Coast is spectacular particularly when the tide is out and the waves are crashing in to the golden sandy beach.

Cape Tribulation in Tropical North Queensland takes some beating though, where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef
