Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

Just seen Sean Lock doing a try out for his next tour at Arse End's theatre/comedy club...some of his material was damn funny, other bits fell flat for me (though he was still getting laughs)...he's not the first comic I've seen doing his work in progress but (apart from 3 female comics trying out their Edinburgh fringe stuff) he's the first I've seen where I wasn't falling off the chair and for me (a premier heckler/banterer) I just thought he didn't connect with the audience as much as he could have done

Anyone else seen comics who you thought would be awesome but left you feeling a bit meh?

I know what you mean, but I was up for a damn good laugh and had a really good banter with his support act, just felt some of his material could have been better, and on his performance tonight, I wouldn't fork out for his main tour (though I seldom do, seeing as usually main tours are a coupla hours away from me and some of the best comics I've seen love coming to Arse End for some reason so I wait for them coming back)

Walked out of Reginald D Hunter gig. His warm up actvwas funnier. And he was Canadian. And his entire act was about bears. Reg tried to have a go when I got up, but I told him I was off to chat to the warm up guy as he was funny. Nice making a comic speechless
