In the UK there is no privacy law, instead we bend other laws to try to enforce a right to privacy.

What do you mean by a right to privacy, when the concept was drawn up privacy was the right of subjects to prevent the government prying into their affairs.

Many now believe that privacy is preventing anyone knowing anything about oneself.

Therefore first we must define what privacy is and then draw up a law to prevent that privacy being breached, only then can we give up the right to privacy

Personally I have no issue with my info being used for the purposes of protection and law enforcement as I don't have anything to worry about on that score.

Would not wish my personal info to be laid, bare for the world to see though.

I personally think there is no such thing as privacy. We have 'free speech' but within the law, so is it really free?

What opened my eyes were the Edward Snowden leaks. How all our data is being stored and it is private companies and civilian staff who have access to it, as well as law enforcement. Imagine going for a job inter_iew and your employer had access to all your web history.

We have no rights only privileges, that were fought for by our predecessors in this country. It seems our owners are trying to revoke them under the guise of freedom. If we have learned anything from history it is that our owners can not be trusted.

The uncertainty is surely about those in charge..? What good does voluntarily letting them spy on you do?
