Depends if the profile is alluring. It's one step beyond a wink and if you bother to reply it's the corresponding reply that would be the clincher. Try sending a hi message to 100 people and see what happens

Ok update.

I messaged somebody who I would normally "go for" and she has now responded and just said the same thing back to me (over 2 hours later).

I take that with a pinch of salt though because I could totally do this next 5 times and every single one could get deleted.

It just so happens this got a response.

But it's funny because I've sent out well thought out messages in the past and they've been ignored or deleted straight away.
