They do a stinker of a job - and who ever tells them thanks or leaves them a mouldy pack of biccies at xmas????

Apart from the fact they block up the street when i have to leave for work early every Tues morning - they are gone by the time the rest of the street leave for work.

Bin men ROCK!!! lol

all civil servants that aren't whitehall tossers.

the country would literally ground to a halt, yet everyone sees us as paper shifters.

there's also the massive misconception that we are all so well paid - when the vast majority of the civil service are on £20k and less.

my vote is for people that do volunteer work. Like me. I do it as it gives back to my community and its a passion for me. I do it for love and not for money. There are so many people that do vol work that help many people out

I think child care workers are under appreciated. Peeps seem to think they have a breeze of a job. However, besides coping with the complexities of the child care they also have heaps of targets and formfilling to complete.

And of course, OUR kids are angels.

I used to work for a local woman who had her own cleaning firm and the day I stopped was when a new client ended up being a woman I knew as an aquaintance from a toddler group that I went to with my son...once she saw I was her new cleaning lady she all of a sudden started talking down to me and if she saw me at the group she wouldn't talk to me anymore and looked horrified when I DARE say hello...

Some people are a bit pathetic if they do that. cleaners are well undervalued by some, bigger companies are just learning it was a mistake to contract them out.

The hard working Admin staff of appreciation societies!

And people who make everday items. I once knew a bloke who worked in a factory that made tights and stockings. He said women now take them for granted. But during world war two there was a demand for them and they were appreciated when recived.

"Lorry drivers, without them, we'd have nothing!"

Actually that's a valid point. Transportation staff, warehouse staff and dockers make sure we have well supplied supermarkets.

I think people in the service industries though are less valued and they are equally as important.

Most under appreciated are whoever it is that empties the dog poo bins...

Couldn't agree more, we have to ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual

care for children placed in a Nursery give support to other personnel, implement the daily routine in our base room, safeguard the well being of all children within our care and ensure all

staff within our room are aware of their responsibility in relation to

safeguarding children. We look after peoples most loved possession and yet most are paid national minimum wage.

The under appreciated people in any.country are the primary industries, without whom the whole country and world would he on their knees. I mean the miners, the farmers and the like. Someone who turns something given to us by mother nature and harvesting it so we all can eat or have material things
