So to actually respond to your post. I find working with some form of seating or support at right angles works well for me. If your sat on a chair then perhaps a foot stool placed at right angles on the opposite side to your striking hand? That way your recipient can rest their upper half on it, lifting their weight off your legs and allowing you to twist or slide yourself under them when necessary to get yourself in a position that is right for you. Essentially its a problem of bio-mechanics, you will get the best power and control if the desired landing spot falls under where you arm, virtually fully extended and describing an arc that works for your shoulder geometry, passes through. Starting to use a paddle or flogger will effectively extend your arm or change the arc it describes and hence where your relative position to the recipients body needs to be. So being able to move around or subtly reposition them is a good thing. | |||

You could try scissoring him...(if you are right handed), place him between your legs facing to the left. Put him over your left knee and then pin his legs with your right. This puts his bum more central so you can get a better swing. Use a stool or chair with a low back, that way you won't catch your elbow.
