We had a disaster with out back up drive and effectively lost the info. Part of the problem was solved by putting the drive into a cradle.

Bought a Webuser mag today and it was on about a recovery program called Disk Drill which is free.

Installed it and yes it found the drive though windows could not, and it has found tens of thousands of files which it is currently transferring to our new external HD. Will up date as to whether the files are readable or not but the previews indicate a good level of success.

A handy tool to have.
