Variety shows and decent situation comedies

Shows like Allo Allo and Dads Army etc still attract lots of _iewers and yet really nothing to replace them

Anything that isn't reality TV. Do you remember what you watched in the 90s? Seriosuly, we didn't have reality tv then, so what made up the schedules... because I can't remember!

Mr Benn and Bagpuss were my favourites.

Wouldnt miss Not the Nine O'Clock News, The Mary Whitehouse Experience (still love Rob Newman), never liked the Young Ones, cant stand all that hitting each other comedy, I dont find it funny, hated Bottom too. Rik Mayall is fab though, the New Statesman was brill. Blackadder - I could watch continuously all day every day, oh and Red Dwarf, Kryton being my favourite - im gonna shut up now

lots of great shows in the 80's/90'..crackerjack, it's a knockout, the sweeney,bottom and as previously mentioned Red dwarf...smug mode.

Tfi Friday used to love the bands doing cover versions.. Although I guess the amount of powder going around at the time may heightened not only the enjoyment but also me thinks the participation

Really loved "The Sweeney"

I read somewhere that they were going to remake a modern day version with a new lead character, with regular references to the legends that are Jack Reagan and George Carter.

Now that John Thaw is no longer with us though, Dennis Waterman, George Carter, could be one of the top brass who helps a new maverick cop pairing.

Used to love the wrestling. Remember the first time I saw it on a colour TV at a friends house. Went home straight away to tell by Dad that the ring was orange and blue!

Watching certain drama series was like a big events - I remember us all sitting down to watch 'Roots' and 'Rich Man, Poor Man'

The 90's started with rave culture for me and ended with the Gatecrasher years, so I can be forgiven for forgetting a few, but as far as I remember shows that everyone watched tended to be (in near chronological order)

Twin Peaks, The Word (Mark Lamarr inter_iewing MC Hammer is one of the most hilarious moments), Father Ted and of course Friends....Brass Eye stands out for me at the end of the decade...

Yeah I remember being surprised to learn that tales of the unexpected was written by Roald Dahl, it explains why it was so dark!

Also loved Fraggle Rock, got nicknamed Red from that, and still get called it!

And remember Quantum Leap and Stargate- loved them, oh and Hercules and Zena!

I remember that episode! The bloke kept seeing a gremlin pissing about with the aeroplane's wing while in mid air and didn't know if he was going mad or not? Finally he went out onto the wing to deal with it. The final scene saw him getting carted off on a stretcher from the plane upon landing, still babbling away about gremlins and such. Of course the camera panned across to show the mangled plane wing before the familiar theme tune and credits kicked in. Quality...I'm sure Roald Dahl used to introduce each episode as well as write them too.

Think i agree with most of programs mentioned here.would rather watch classic repeats than most of tosh on tv now. Some mothers do ave em and on the buses are on late at night. I sky plus them and watch em with my daughter. She loves them.
