Double Negatives???

Which is correct:

It's not that difficult to not get pregnant.

Or..

It's not that difficult to prevent pregnancy.

... and no, we're not expecting.

Logically they are both correct and I have a very strong suspicion you know they are.

The second example would be the better to use as it doesn't confuse with repetition.

To be pedantic you haven't used a double negative you have just used not in the same sentence twice.

Both are syntactically correct.

The second implies an act of will to avoid pregnancy. First is not a statement of volition.

NOW...talking of sintax[sic]

I have a girl of almost 13 (but according to her she's 973), and a young lad of 18mos (but according to him he's the boss).
