Turkish spas are awesome. Little intimidating at first as its men who scrub you down etc, but skin super soft after.

If you can, get yourself to fethiye and Olu Deniz. Both lovely. Fethiye good for shopping, and Olu Deniz you can paraglide off a mountain and land on the beach!!! It's awesome landing on the sand and gliding over the ocean! But about 80km from where you will be

Marmaris is mostly boat trips apart from the jeep/quad bike safaris, there are other trips that involve a bit of travel and an overnight stay ie Pamukkale. You can do the mud baths at Dalyan by road but it does involve a short sedate boat trip across the river as does Iztuzu beach, the only soft powder sand beach in the area, most others are shingle. Hope this helps and if you need any more info inbox me, I married a Turk and lived there for 2 years

Each to their own but I personally love Marmaris. Going back for 9th time in July. Food fantastic, people lovely, weather(which is what we generally go to somewhere like Marmaris for) is impeccable and value is fantastic, still Turkish Lira. If it's the rocking of a boat you don't like, dont worry, it's calm. Keep safaris are just one big water fight, big kids like myself love them!!

Hope you enjoy anyway.

Altinkum-Turkey

Although Turkey has developed a strong reputation for the quality of beaches, it has much more to offer along its coastline and in its cities in the form of fascinating historical and cultural sites. A holiday in Turkey will offer you the perfect opportunity to uncover some of the country's varied heritage, as well as spend time on the beach working on your tan.

On the coast you'll also have access to various water sports, as well as some wonderful hiking trails, allowing you to get active if you want. Turkey suits all kinds of holidaymakers - with outstanding family-friendly resorts, towns where you can party into the small hours of the morning and quiet fishing villages where you can find some peace and get close to the country's culture.

Whatever kind of holiday in Turkey you're looking for, you can find it at one of the destinations served by Monarch, either on a package deal or a self-catered break in a villa.

We love Marmaris - yes it can be a bit like Blackpool, but it's hot and sunny. The beach is gritty (not much sand) but all in all it's a fun place to go.

Walk from the beach up into Armutilan and it's packed with cafes, bars and all manner of shops.

If you intend to do a Lazy day boat trip, the best, very best is a boat called The Mega Diana, Kaptan Mustafa and his crew are absolute diamonds. You cannot book that boat anywhere in Marmaris other than the Donatella Offices (Donatella Travel) can be found on Facebook - or it can be booked direct on the boat at the harbour. It CAN NOT be booked from any of the street vendors.

The Spa / Baths are great but again beware - there are a lot of ripoff merchants. Just go into the hotel/spa of your choice and ask the prices inside as some of the street vendors can overcharge - having said that - some of them offer a bloody good deal too so it's worth shopping around.

This will be the first year since 2010 that we'll not be in Marmaris but next year - bring it on.

Also if you fancy a tattoo when you're there - look up Ozzie Blackine Tattoo - he's a great guy and did a fantastic portrait oif Amy Winehouse for me
