Forcing trans men and trans women to use the toilets of their birth gender has moved a step closer.

Honestly, would the ladies really want a bloke with full beard using the ladies toilets?

would the men really want a woman (convincing or otherwise) sitting in their only cubicle?

In California it's moved a step closer and they are going to 'reward the public with cash' to grass up anyone they find using the 'wrong' toilets.

I'm pretty sure i don't want anyone trying to peek at my genitalia whilst i'm using the toilets

This could even encourage the return of 'cottaging' on the pretence of making sure a toilet user was not breaking the gender law!!

And just for info, the ratio of men transitioning to female and women who transition to male is actually just under a 50/50 split, not the common misconception that 95% are male to female.

Leon restaurant I sometimes visit has unisex toilets.

All cubicles.

Never found it uncomfortable but then I'm not going to stick around for long.

Nothing that comes from the US surprises me.

There's a story today of a schoolgirl who had her t-shirt photoshopped out of a photograph because it said 'feminist'!

I do think the trans-bathroom issue is a grey area. However my own view is that they should use the bathroom they feel most comfortable with.

Asking people to snitch on them will only increase the misplaced sense of 'fear' or 'suspicion' that a lot of people have about trans folks.

It doesn't really bother me, in fact last time I was out clubbing I was helped by a trans man in the toilets so imagine if they weren't allowed in there! I'd of been stuffed!

Don't know what to make of this -surely if a woman looks like a woman and uses a loo nobody would be any the wiser?

Can't see how there can be any 'right' answer though except for unisex loos with cubicles.

Be grateful for it. The state some blokes leave a toilet in, you wouldn't want to be within 100ft of the blast zone.

I have 3 sons, got some idea what state a toilet might be left in.

It seems there should be a balance between both but you'll always have people who are uncomfortable. a trans person should be allowed to use which toilet they feel comfortable with but you can't expect others to be comfortable with the idea as you'd expect in a world full of individuals with equally valid viewpoints.

As a former bar manager abroad - trust me = I'd rather clean the Gents at the end of the night over the ladies -curry guts or otherwise!

You really wouldn't believe some of the things that used to get fished out when the drains got blocked....

but then on the plus side they are doing great work with transgender kids as shown on the louis theroux program the other day

im not fussed who uses them to be honeest .im happy to have unisex loos
