"No it's not. I need a 34 leg you can get em but not easy and 1 makes 34 is far from anthers " So the manufacturers can't even use a tape measure?? I can understand them making up a size 8,10,12 as you go along but surely 34 inches is 34 inches.. Maybe they use the same measuring equipment as the 10" cock guys on here ![]()

"I have this discussion with the wife a lot. Blokes tend not to have the issue as we take stuff back and don't accept it. Shops that sell varieing sized to ladies know most can't be bothered to kick up a fuss so they don't bother (my opinion anyway) I shop for clothes in minutes walk in read sizes buy and walk out ![]() I don't ever buy anything without trying it on first. I daren't! So the returning thing isn't an issue for me. The only thing I'll order online is shoes.

"I cant get anything from Next in the size i am.. Always have to get bigger.. I bought a dress from Dorothy Perkins once, it was really small fitting so when i ordered one ofter that, i bought a size bigger... It drowned me!! Cant win lol" It's been the total opppsite for me. Tried to get jeans in a 10. They swamped me, got an 8 instead. Wore them twice and realised they were huge as well. Managed to sell them to a friend and got them in a 6. It's hilarious. Saw some 6's in new look yesterday and pretty sure I wouldn't of got an arm in let alone a leg!

"As a lot of clothes are made abroad, mainly Asia, I've come to the conclusion that an Asian inch is a bit less than a European (well imperial) inch! " Now that I'm inclined to agree with because I ordered my son some xmas pajamas from Hong Kong and I was warned in advance go check the sizing chart. He's not a big kid he wears 3/4 in most clothes and he's just turned 4. But this was when he was 18 months old and according to the sizing charts and his measurements I had to by age 4-5 and they only just fit!!!

"Anyone else get fed up with the huge difference between sizes in various shops?? Yesterday I was wearing a pair of jeans from next in a size 6 (any other pair of trousers in a size 6 won't go past my knees) today im wearing a pair from new look in a 12 and they aren't exactly loose... I'm a 10 I think although its hard to tell because what's the standard size 10? Why can't they do waist and leg measurement like men's trousers?? Men- is it easy to just pick up a pair of trousers in the waist and leg size and be confident that they will fit??? " Maybe the '1' had rubbed off the label? ![]() ![]() ![]()

What annoys me though is that pants seem to be made more and more for scrawny legs. I have to go up a few sizes in the waist to get a Jean that fits over my thighs without being tight. This is generally why I don't wear jeans anymore and stick to cargo/combats

"It's vanity sizing. And different shops will have customers that respond to vanity sizing in different ways. Also different markets mean different shapes. I am a 'GAP' shaped woman. I have a fat arse and big thighs, while still being a size 8. I am not a 'Miss Sixty' size woman, which is all about having skinny, long legs and a small bum. Shops cater to their customers. Perhaps you are not the target customer of the shops you like?" This. Also bear in mind a size 12 today is not the same as a size 12 from 30 years ago. They are adjusted to suit markets and/or vanity.

"Try finding a bloody 28" waist, then one that doesn't leave me with ankle swingers! I remember reading a while ago that as well as vanity sizing the women's shops use concave house of mirrors mirrors to make the customers look slimmer/taller." I always look hideous - wider and shorter than I think I am. Perhaps I'm in the wrong Hall of Mirrors?

"Also different markets mean different shapes. I am a 'GAP' shaped woman. I have a fat arse and big thighs, while still being a size 8. I am not a 'Miss Sixty' size woman, which is all about having skinny, long legs and a small bum." In that case I might have to try GAP for trousers. I'm normally a curvy 14 and have long but large muscular legs and gave up on trying to find trousers that fit about 4 years ago. As far as strange sizing goes I think it has to be Primark. I've come across size 18s that are too small and have a size 8 jumper that fits great ![]()
