Inconsiderate pricks

Hereabouts

This is the second night in a row that my sister has come home with a bunch of friends at 3.30 am, and they've woken me up just as I've fallen asleep. Am I in the wrong to tell them all to shut up, and then when they don't shut up tell them to get out?

I've never been so fucking angry in my whole life! My little sister is asleep. I need my beauty sleep.. and having a bunch of inconsiderate teenagers wake me up at 3.30 am is not making me happy.

What would you do in a situation like that? Let them have their fun while sacrificing your sleep? Go ape shit?

Aren't most fuse boxes flip switches now? Not ones you can pull out?

Frustrating I know OP, but as long as it's not every weekend (or every day ) then you're just going to have to grit your teeth and bear it. She's at the age where she should be staying out till all hours then bringing friends back and making too much noise.

A calm word tomorrow might help ensure it doesn't happen again, or at least not too loudly or too late. I know you want to rant and get annoyed but that will just take the edge off and she'll find it amusing.

Hope you manage to catch it up sometime today.

It was a calm word last night.. 3 texts, a quiet word, a shout down the stairs, and then going downstairs and telling everyone to get out tonight.. it's not every weekend, but two nights in a row when I'm barely sleeping enough as it is just really pisses me off!

You guys wanna pay my deposit? It's not quite as simple as that. I didn't flip the first night because my little sister wasn't here.. I flipped tonight cos they woke her up. I also got a text from the neighbour who have a new born baby asking me to turn the music down. You gonna suggest they move too?

no, I would have asked them nicely to play their music a little quieter and explained a text has come through from the neighbours.

and if they didn't, I would have asked your sister to ask them to leave. I take it, it is her home as well.

and does the neighbour's baby cry at nights and you hear that... did they party before the baby came.

it is about give and take and if this weekend is a one off... then I really don't see the issue.

if it is a regular thing, that may be different.

just because you are having difficulty sleeping, doesn't mean the world tip toes around.

I've only heard the baby cry at night once.. and I was wide awake at the time, no way I would have been able to hear it if I was asleep. My point is, it was 3.30 in the morning, they woke up my little sister and the neighbours... that's inconsiderate... hence the thread title. It's the second time this weekend... again, inconsiderate. And I'm not saying they need to tiptoe around me, just not blast music at 3.30 in the morning, 2 nights in a row. I asked what people would do... reasonable answers... I'm not asking for people to make me out to be the bad guy for caring about new parents, and a 13 year old who needs her sleep...I was simply asking for advice, not abuse. It's a valid question...

I did the same thing that you said... Ask them nicely, say about the text.

Then you changed your mind and said its not an issue and implied that I'm in the wrong by wanting them to be quiet because I'm not sleeping properly... So yeah, two different answers doesn't really make sense...

I think my answer has been consistent, it is about give and take and as long as it is not a regular thing

then you can ask them to quieten down but it is upto your sister, it is her home as well as the one you moved back into.

It is the weekend and yes your sister should have more concern for her younger sister as well but that is a conversation that your mother/father should be having with her.

In your OP you mention your younger sister and the need for your beauty sleep, then the neighbour later so your concern for the baby came a 3rd after yourself.

I hope it resolves itself

Whose house is it? From what you describe it sounds like you're living with your parents, but I can't tell your age since you've hidden your profile. If so, get them to deal with it.

Otherwise, what you're describing pretty much sounds like every weekend in student digs, when I had to work to pay my way and also needed sleep.

What you did last night, was all you could have done. The trouble is, when they're d*unk, eventually the whole thing becomes a big joke to them, and you become a party-pooper.

Today you need to vent, get a little sympathy, get more sleep, then decide whether the occasional disruption is worth living in your situation.

Best of luck

Mr ddc

Sorry if this sounds rude but you do seem to have a problem for every solution, not just on this thread but on all your others as well.

Try talking to your sister when she is not d*unk and not around her friends. D*unk people don't listen and if you are confronted in front of your friends when d*unk you act the big man on campus.

I am sure we have all acted badly when young and d*unk (or any age and d*unk lol)

I think I must have been a rubbish teenager because I used to go out and do the loud d*unken partying in town, stay out as late as I wanted then just come home and go to bed.

If other neighbours are being disturbed by it too then a think a word to that effect is in order. Doing what you want and having your fun is absolutely fine, but not when it starts to affect someone else's quality of life.

Personally I'd be bloody furious as I hate being woken up and always have done. I had neighbours like this once and was always out banging on their door in the middle of the night.

I did this with a housemate once.

Then when he went out clubbing I'd leave a bowl of it in the kitchen next to the fridge so it was the first thing he saw when he came back.

Stopped him hitting the beer when he got home.

No you are not wrong. The worst thing is to hsve little shits wake you up. Its incondsiderate especially if they are waking your little sister. You don't have to chill out or accept it. If it happens again just go and sit in the rokm with them and see how long they take to stop.

What age are her friends, 13teen year olds drinking ?

Your are 21 seen as the cool sister ?

Not many here would allow their 13teen year old to party with friends at 3am, especially when these friends just rocked up looking for a place to go.

Double lock the front door on the weekends and take the key with you

May not stop them knocking but at least you can deal with it with them on the outside.

They will soon find another place and door.

I think your sister inviting friends back to a house with other people in it, then pissing off to bed and leaving them to it is the height of rudeness.

Your house, not theirs. Her house also, but in that case she should stay awake and ensure her guests aren't disturbing anyone.

I'd have strong words, and every time it happened I'd kick them out until they got the message.

I used to find at Uni that just making a personal appearance and asking if they'd had a good night, then a casual mention I was going back to bed was enough to get the noise turned down.

In 20 years, she'll still be your sister, so handle it subtly, kill her with kindness.

"and does the neighbour's baby cry at nights and you hear that... did they party before the baby came.

it is about give and take and if this weekend is a one off... then I really don't see the issue.

if it is a regular thing, that may be different.

just because you are having difficulty sleeping, doesn't mean the world tip toes around.

So you're an inconsiderate **** too then "

You're allowed to type 'cunt'.

my sexual pleasure is at the forefront of any meet of mine... I am not one of the good guys who declare their interest on the forums is in making the woman come first...

maybe together, we can stimulate each other to mutual satisfaction, but i don't own someone else pleasure. "

I'm really lost now!

I dunno, it might solve my sleeping problems if I don't unplug it first!

Isn't that a little drastic?

I feel so smug now for asking Nanna to come for a 'holiday' (not babysit, honest) when Mrs ddc & I went on our 2nd honeymoon...

no matter

Does your mother not take on the responsibility of parenting.. why is it the neighbours are texting you and not her.

I guess you could always ring the police and ask them to come round or suggest that the neighbours ring the police.

Yelling at d*unk noisy teens is never going to work .. just put on a pair of ear phones and play the music you like . or talking books and shut out the noise downstairs.

I was thinking more like pull the plug out of the wall before cutting it off.

Do people really need to be told this?!

If you've tried asking nicely and they've not listened and the neighbours are complaining I don't think so.

It's easy enough to repair and it would solve the loud music problem and probably would get across that you really aren't joking.

I'll ask nicely once but I don't take any crap.

Wake your sister at 5am for a few days. Music on loud and see if she likes it.

Surprising isn't it but I'm guessing yes
