Love so many from the 80's, but one tune we brought out of semi-retirement at a wedding a few weeks ago (me and my mate DJing) was tge Communards Don't leave me this way and we were saying just how good a tune it still is, especially compared to much of todays music. It just has a great arrangement and a great mix and just works

Look up You Tube.... Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17 singing Party Fears Two.

We saw him live doing it as a tribute to Billy MacKenzie. It brought the whole crowd to silence.

The didn't write songs like that in the 80s either....it was released in 1979.

I know, I'm being pedantic - it's a great song.

I'm not a huge 80s fan, but love:

Orange Juice - Rip It Up

New Order - True Faith

The lotus eaters?

Never heard of them but Robert e Howard regularly refered to 'lotus eaters' in his Conan stories...they're painted as drug users...

Even in the film Conan the barbarian (the first one, not the Jason mamoa crap) Conan and suboti buy some off the market seller that advised them on the towers of set....suboti even advises Conan 'chew slowly....it's good stuff'

Wonder if the band name a reference to Robert e Howard's writings?
