This morning.

I was tired, frustrated and angry. And then the hoover wouldn't go back in the cupboard properly, so I threw a strop and started crying.

But then the postman delivered my Brian toy from confused.com and that cheered me up!

Thursday night.

Our son has just been accepted into the Army. He came back from his selection in Edinburgh Fri night and told us. Also told us he has chosen his regiment. The Rifles as he wants to train as a sniper.

Terrified and proud in equal measure.

He withdrew his Navy application a few months ago as he couldnt train as a sniper due to not getting the required marks on his entry exam. But he said the Army one was easier and he wants to be on the frontline.

The words "cannon fodder" keep running through my mind.

Can you not get on it, you can swing a leg without using your sides much?? Or is it a sports riding position? I think my ribs are probably just bruised, but whilst I am ok to get on a horse and sit on it, it hurts like mad to lean forward to swing a leg back to get off!! Ah yes - I just have a bruise on the outside of my hip so it does not affect function. Shame!! Being a lifelong rider I don't bounce - but that's the point - all the movement is controlled with core/torso/back muscle control and that's too painful! I'm debating trying swimming.....
