Titz Towers, North Notts

Thank heaven, I thought this was a Yewtree thread at first.

Speaking of Pick of the Pops, I refurbished Fireblade's profile blurb for him in this theme the other week.

Thought you were going to say he had died! he was much maligned back n the day, but he really loves music [and you couldn't say that about many of the 70s mainstream R1 DJs...]

Any years between 65-74 and then 77-81 would do for me...

He argued with John Peel once over which music would stand the test of time, Motown or Beefheart?

A bit!

I assumed they were ironic, in a sort of 'and here's a joke from 1976' kind of way.

And apologies to everyone for the title, hadn't really thought through those implications

I met him In Ibiza years ago he was doing a cheesy show in a club wearing a sequin Union jack vest. I was in the club before it opened as was with my mate who worked there and he sat and had a drink with us before the show he was a really nice guy!

"Bit before my time. .. "

He's one of the few 1970's DJs who seems to take note of things like that.

I don't know, you set these jokes up, in an ironic, 1970s, Bob Monkhouse way...
