"Red Ed! He is as left wing as David Cameron. Try reading beyond the headlines of the Daily Mail once in a while." It always makes me laugh when people suggest that Labour is socialist. They haven't been left wing for 20 years!

"Regardless of the periferie - it is still an endorsement that the decisions and strategy being employed are working for the UK economy. Other positive news released - unemployment lower. And not forgetting the superb news for Rolls Royce - £6.1 billion order. " Brilliant news. Just goes to show there is enormous trade opportunities OUTSIDE the EUROPEAN UNION !

But the car industry wants us to stay INSIDE the EU. From Bloomberg: 'While the U.K. isn’t in the single currency, EU membership brings tariff-free access to a market of 500 million people, free movement of workers across the continent and a seat at the table when rules that affect the industry are hashed out. Labor costs that are about half those in the German car industry, and similar to those in Spain, add to the appeal of the U.K. for carmakers wanting to produce inside the bloc. “Access to the market, free movement of goods and people, the ability to influence regulation which allows you to sell in Europe -- these are fundamentally important issues for the industry,” Mike Hawes, chief executive of the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders, said in an inter_iew.' Funny that, eh?

Funny that, eh?" Quite true and that's all that we voted for in the only referendum ever in the 1970's not a German lead political take over of Europe . Didn't we fight to WW to remain as independent countries? That should stir the debate up ??

"and they still get my vote the tory in scotland.... you are an endangered species... " We'd probably vote for them on this occasion as we trust them on the economy more than any other party. It's a Labour stronghold in our area though so there's no point voting for them.

"The IMF are a bunch of bean counters! They have no interest in people, just spreadsheets. If any government in the world was to stop spending any money on it's people in order to repay it's loans or merely to bump up the figures in it's end of year accounts, the IMF would say "aren't they doing well". The economy is not the be all and end all of a country's status. The people ARE the country! Yes, there needs to be fiscal responsibility in Government policy, but society must come first." In your family home, the people who live in it come first. But if you fuck up your family finances, the knock on effect to the people within the family will be catastrophic. Just scale it up.

" I don't see there being any problem with this news and the fact that Emirates chose RR for the engines - think of all the jobs it has secured - some of which are in the North East. Yes Airbus is European, but there are a number of other UK business also in the supply chain. Emirates ordering 50 new A380 last year - yes I did figure this engine order was linked to that , but what if the engine order had gone elsewhere???

"The IMF also said that there was no chance of the UK reducing the defect to zero in the timescale of the next parliament..... Regardless of what is being claimed in manifesto's..... I see you left that bit out...... .....and no chance of doing it in the next 100 years if Red Ed, the SNP and Labour are ruining the economy yet again! Did you know that no Labour government in history has ever left office without leaving the UK in recession. "
