Hi everyone. Looking to drop the pounds for summertime fast and know this product gets a bad rep at times as its meal replacement shakes but has anyone had some good results on it? Any feedback would be great x

Please don't waste your money on these overpriced gimmicks. Just eat a balanced diet, track your calories on my fitness pal and watch your fat/sugar/carbs. Try and go high protein so lots of lean meat and veg/salad. Eggs. Tuna. That kind of stuff.

I've been battling my weight for years. I've done atkins, slim fast, ww, and every quick solution I could find. They all work short term but the weight will go back on!!

Don't waste your money. You lose weight by burning off more calories than you eat in a day. Just add more fruit and veg and remove the sugary and fatty stuff, it's a lot cheaper and much more healthy!

It works for short term weight loss.

But there are cheaper, more effective ways that don't mess up your body long term, than that crap.

A few years ago, I tried it and wasted £hundreds

Then shut my gob in between sensible meals and went to the gym

I am going onto a similar product starting Monday. I need something that's going to give me results quickly as I am due to be having surgery anytime soon. I lost a stone and half in 3 weeks doing it before. You have to be in the right frame of mind to stick to it and this is where I tell to fail. But had a scare this morning when I got on the scales x

quick fix diets are not only dangerous but you'll end up putting all the weight back on or even more.

I have done weight watchers and then I did slimming world and lost in total 5 stone and kept it off and I'm still doing it and wanting to lose more. It's healthier, cheaper and more effective.

As well as cutting out junk food and eating healthy, try the 30 day shred exercise program. Most of it is free on YouTube and the dvd doesn't cost a fortune.

The key to eating healthy is to not have junk in the house and to figure out what healthy foods you like that are very very low in sugar and fat.

My fave go to foods are cottage cheese, carrots sticks with humous, and a bowl of oats.

Plus I see from your profile op that you are a size 14. So hardly dangerously overweight. There's plenty of time to lose a couple of lbs a week between now and July when the summer properly kicks in in a healthy way!

Mix cottage cheese with eggs and whatever veg you like in an ovenproof dish and bake till it sets!! Makes an awesome crustless quiche is loaded with protein and totally yummy with a side salad!!

It's been proved that quick fix diets aren't dangerous at all.. as long as you stick to the diet under supervision the results are amazing. I have friends who have done Cambridge one of them alone lost 6 stone on it..

I lost 5 stone on Cambridge, put two back on when I stopped. Recently started eating healthier and have lost 2.5 stone, which has stayed off - even though the bad days have taken over the good ones at the minute! Lol

I did Weight Watchers before Christmas and lost a stone, since then I have put back on a stone and a half so it's not just the quick fix diets! If you did the quick fix diets then went on a sensible balanced diet afterwards then the weight would stay off. I don't think we can blame the diets, I think we can stop being in denial and blame the greedy buggars like myself!

I'm currently on day 6 of a shake diet, usually day three is the worst but so far I've not found it too bad. I'm just using the Asda cheap version of Slimfast and it's fine. I'm also trying to keep carbs to a minimum in the foods that I do eat and increasing my fluid intake. I have a long history of losing a stone, gaining more, losing a stone, gaining more and perhaps it won't be any different this time. We have to try though right? I'm an all or nothing kinda gal so the balanced diet with sensible portions and some treats just doesn't work for me.

I will be joining you on Monday and like you I find I get to day 3 or 4 and my body craves everything that it shouldn't. I am due to have a tummy tuck and thigh reduction very soon after loosing 15 stone well I am down to 12 now as I have put on a few stone and I feel like a disappointment and feel fat and very unsexy. So for me this is going to get some of the excess weight off quickly x

I know a lot of people that have lots huge amounts of weight on Cambridge and lighter life. Every single one of them is now bigger than before they started. Problem with meal replacement is it doesn't teach you to make healthy choices or eat better portion sizes. You can't live on sachets of powder forever.. Especially at the price they charge.

Learning about what's in food is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. Low fat normally means high sugar, the crap in processed food, added sugar in so called healthy cereals.. That sort of thing.

This

My friend did lighter life and lost about 2 stone in a matter of weeks. He made himself so poorly as he just wasn't getting the balanced diet that he needed. He stopped doing it and stuck to a healthy eating plan but still ended up putting over 3 stone back on. They are expensive, quick fix plans that don't work long term and are no good for your health in the long run.

It's not a lack of knowledge, I know everything I need to do to lose weight steadily and keep it off. It's putting it into practice and sticking at it that's the problem, the only person who can change that is me but it's something I find a constant struggle.

It works if you use it right, you need to make sure you take the whole package. Also do a considerable amount of research first and understand how the system works.

I used to distribute them and found it worked for me to lose and maintain weight, it was easier than trying to get up and make myself lunches for work (six AM shifts as a lifeguard...) and so it meant I wasn't eating a load of rubbish for breakfast and lunch.

It's worth trying for a few months, see if you get any results, and if you don't then don't do it anymore.

Herbalife is no more 'quick fix' than Slimming World or Weight Watchers. It's teaching you to eat less while getting nutritional balance - exactly the same thing that they teach you.

It also used to work out very cheaply, well under £1 a meal IIRC, but that was some time ago.

That's bullshit. An hour of sex burns less than 100 calories for a woman on average. You don't burn calories from orgasms.

First week on my shake diet and I've lost 3.5lbs. Sensible amount I suppose but a little disappointed as first week is usually a huge loss. Will be happy if it's that every week though

I went on a meal replacement diet. Three shakes a day, water and nothing else. My breath stank and I was always constipated. Lost 4 stone. Then put on 5 when I came off it (that's despite going to slimming world when I came off it)
