Both are only temporary lubricants and will dry the joints out unless used very regularly.

Best getting propper clain lube.

i used to spray it all over my bike till i realized the damage it was doing by being too thin to lubricate the gears and chain.still love the smell tho

exactly! always use tri flow teflon based lubricants for my chain set

Hello all,

WD40 is not specifically a lubricant, it's original formulation is a water dispersant and apparently the current version is the 40th formula variation, hence WD40.

It's not very good for freeing rusty bolts etc, Plus Gas is much better and is designed for that application.

A cycle specific dry chain lube is your friend.

Never use wd40 unless bike is being treated to a good clean then only used to clean chain.

I prefer muck off.

And as said a Teflon based dry lube once clean

And lithium grease for bearings.
