Cologne is a beautiful city.

The cathedral is worth a visit and there are many bars around there.

The red light area is good fun but a tad expensive.

The high street has all the high end fashion shops , but at high end prices.

If the weathers nice plot up outside a bar and watch the locals get on with it.

I enjoyed my weekend there.

It was twenty five years ago though.

Agree about the Cathedral, but if the weather's good, and you have transport, get yourself to the parks and palaces at Brühl (about 10 miles south).

Them bishops certainly misunderstood the concept of ascetic living...

Love cologne ,, make sure you eat at das Kleine steakhouse in centre opposite McDonald's , best steak you will ever taste and also der lowenbrau on the river for traditional fare , great cocktail bar is the Capri lounge , one of the top ones in the world

Costa Blanca Spain...

Great city. As above the cathedral is well worth a visit, if you've got a sweet tooth there is the chocolate factory on the riverbank, lots of nice shops, bars, and restaurants. Papa Joe's Jazz bar is quite quirky had a great atmosphere even for non Jazz lovers.

Oh and don't forget to leave your padlock on the bridge.

I forgot to mention the street entertainers especially the African guy who calls himself "The Water Boy"

If he is still working the city and you get the chance watch his act it is quite unique.
