So I read that Steve Smith, the founder of Poundland, gets "pocket money" from his wife...

"On a day-to-day basis my wife gives me a little pocket money. The problem with me is that if I have any cash on me I spend it, so she’ll give me about £10 or £20 a day."

No I'm really good with money to be honest

I had a compensation pay out a few years ago and I haven't spent a penny of it yet, it kills my kids knowing I won't splash out with it but don't bother me

I'm brilliant at saving money, but when I spend I go out all guns blazing

If I want something I'd rather save up longer and buy the best (within reason)

Been looking at laptops today as our chromebook can't do everything we need.

Would much rather save and spend £500 on a decent laptop than £200 on an entry level model.

I'm not too bad. I can keep a £10 or £20 note in my wallet for days and spend hardly anything.

But as soon as I break in to them and have loose coins in my pocket then for some reason my spending increases and I'll get through it very quickly.

Not quite sure why but always seems to happen!

Everytime I tell myself this is the month to start saving but would then end up spending more than I did the previous month. In general I hate that I spend sort of more than am supposed to and to make things worse, they don't even go on things I can see like cloths, shoes or gadgets

Ive never had spare cash really .. W gave me some money as a gift .. said treat myself to something like a pair of jeans .. i couldnt bring myself to pay the best part of my hundred quid on jeans ..i ended up with quite a stash of stuff over a few months ..

We've got loads of spare cash mainly because we live a very green lifestyle.

It really comes down to "wants"

People buy into this bullshit that foreign holidays and nice cars and top houses and constant new outfits provide this joy in life and it's a real joy in a sense because this huge machine of capitalism is all encompassing and the message is always buy buy buy.

In reality humans get as much joy from sitting having a drink with a stranger and talking, we get immense joy from children and pets and all the little things in life that get totally lost in the big picture!.

It's harder for me to spend if I have to leave the house to spend it.

I can't remember. Like the queen, I don't carry cash. My reason is somewhat different. I'm always skint !
