I'd like to see their official policy.

So you go out.

Pop into a couple of bars and have four drinks. Then get refused entry.

Other people go out. Go straight to the club. Get arseholed.

Comes across as a 'it's fine to get pissed if you've paid for it in our gaff!' To me!

Will they breath test people who've been in there for an hour or two and apply the same rules?

I don't disagree with the principle, but is breath testing really necessary? What happened to just having the bouncers not let in people who are already shitfaced?

This.

I don't know any clubs and many city centre bars that don't have door staff.

I can be well over the limit (legal driving) and yet perfectly well behaved, happy and chatty and appear relatively sober. Would stopping me enter benefit anyone?

Other folk can be an arsehole after half a shandy.

Judgement should be made on the person and not on a meter reading.

Yes it smacks of profiteering more than anything else

I used to get proper smashed in town.

We used to go to pre club bars where it was £1 a shot.

£1.50 per bottle.

We used to be hammered and never once got turned away from what I can remember.

Which means I've probably forgotten.

Just to add a different slant on it.

Its the loadung up that i,m agrieved with.

I,m lucky enough to be centrally located.

Often in evening I go for a stroll to clear my head. Find increasing menaced by groups drinking as they stroll into the area. For some reason find it hard to keep themself to themselfs and and respect the privacy of others...just because their boozing.

If I feel like that makes me wonder how many other feel intimidated in going out aswell in area.

Do you think they're actually preloading before going to a club though, or just drinking outside and will continue drinking outside?

Hereabouts

The bouncers at the club I used to go to wouldn't let anyone in if they were too d*unk.. they'd make them walk up and down the highstreet to sober up a little bit then maybe let them in. But the amount of times I was so d*unk I don't even remember getting into the club, but definitely didn't walk up and down the highstreet is unreal. I used to have 2 pitchers of sex on the beach, and a bottle of wine at spoons.. then go to yates, dance on the pole, spend all my change on jagerbombs, which were £1 each.. then go to the club. But I was always well behaved, so they make more money by letting me in, because I kept drinking. But if they had to do tests on entry I'd have never been allowed in

Great idea. There's nothing worse than people enjoying a drink whilst on a night out.

I don't know why people don't do what I do and just sniff glue. It's cheaper, more fun and makes driving less tedious.

Central

Is theiq license up for renewal and under question at all?

Just accept the right people to enter and entrust the door staff to do their jobs.
