"The plan supposedly was to have everyone ganging up on Ed, making him look weak, and splitting the left-vote. Instead he'll come out of it as the sensible, balanced one from a bunch of amateurs and fantasists. I'd say he's looking the most prime-ministerial I've ever seen him. Just wish he'd stop looking directly at me Mr ddc" Worry when he winks at you

"Anyone else noticed that Nicola Sturgeon is only talking about Scotland. OK, so she's the first minister and therefore has a vested interest, but her place in the debate, and the role her party could play after May 7th is not simply restricted to Scotland, so perhaps she should try and broaden her appeal. From what i've seen from her so far this evening, it's very clear that she is solely focussed on Scotland and will ONLY work with Milliband for the interests of Scotland. As a result, I think she's doing a brilliant job for the Tories, as she's making Milliband look very weak." Maybe, but I'm sure I saw her wink at me. She said what sounded like 'housing benefit' but I heard it as 'I want to shag steve' so she gets my vote.

"It's like the other leftys on stage are telling miliband he is missing the bus on his policies, his chance to be a good classic labour PM and is too focussed on being a milder version of the Tories. I'm not an snp voter but everytime the Green Party and the snp speak I just wish it was Labour saying these instead or watered down Tory policies. "Why are the Tories allowed air time in the spin room aftershow? If they don't show up for the debate then fuck off and sing for it! "Milliband, without even being pushed, said he will never do a coalition deal with the SNP. Let's see if he's lying if push comes to shove on May 7th." Of course he is lying, you do not become a leader of a political party if you do not tell lies

"I do wonder why Nick Clegg didn't take part though. " DC vetoed it. Pointed out this was an opposition-party debate, whereas Libdems are in Government, not opposition. (According to Grauniad and Torygraph) Personally I suspect he hoped without either, it wouldn't go ahead...

"I do wonder why Nick Clegg didn't take part though. I thought the same but I was told that when the Tories decided not to show the decision was made to not invite the Lib Dems. " I understood that too but I wonder why the Lib Dems didn't defend their right to debate too. Although, as their current message is that that they are the ideal coalition partner for whichever party comes close to forming a government maybe there isn't anything to debate. Or, they have already done the deal to remarry the Tories in May.

One of the questions was along the lines of "what would you offer a coalition?" - the Lib Dems def have something to offer on that topic whether people like it or not.

"The only thing I don't quite understand is why was Nicola there? Surely she is the SNP leader for the Scottish Parliament. Isn't Alex Salmond the planned SNP leader for the Westminster Parliament? I really don't know how i think i am going to vote till i get in the little cubicle..." Same. I'm happy with the idea of Labour with some pressure from a more left/liberal leaning party so my first choice now would prob be Green. But as that's likely a wasted vote here it'll be Labour. I won't vote LibDem ever again until Clegg fucks off. I wonder if they tactically kept away tonight to avoid the coalition question. If that happens I hope Milliband makes it a condition that Clegg steps down.

"I take a good deal of interest in politics in general and regularly watch BBC Parliament, so this debate was unlikely to make me change my mind on who I will be casting my vote for on May 7th, but I have to say, that if I was undecided, after this evenings performance I can honestly say I would not vote for any of those who took part - or at least their respective local party candidates."
