Bradford

In tribute to Viv Nicholson who died today aged 79. She won £152,000 (about £3.5m in today's terms) on the football pools in 1961, and told the media she would "spend, spend, spend. 3 years later, she had indeed spent it all.

Would you?

Yes.....but a fair bit on things that would last. Property being foremost. But also a fecking huge motorhome and a big boat too!

little house on the praire

I would spend some but on beneficial things, I would invest.

I would research certain charities to donate. I would give myself a comfortable lifestyle but wouldn't go mad.

Didn't she also spend some of it on private education for her children?

Wonder how that worked out for them?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Yes and no.

Most of it would be "spent" as I will have given half to my sister and her family and then half of what I have left to various charities. The remainder would then be used to treat people to a holiday in Hawaii, buy a house in Lyme Regis and I would keep about £100,000 to live on should I ever need to stop working.

no matter

I think she was a bit crazy and ended up with nothing. I would plan enjoy what I had but invest in a home so the kids were comfortable. Just the one car a little jewelry and live on interest. Im not a wasteful person so we would be comfortable not extravagant.
