I thought the exact same thing... and then I ended up in a long term relationship with somebody I met on here.

Love has always been harder to find.

the harder you look, maybe the more difficult it is to achieve.

Love was always harder. There are two halves of a soul and 6 billion people on the planet to sift through until the other half is found. Staggering odds

Whereas being bisexual I am sexually compatible with atleast 5 billion

when you meet somebody, whether it's on fab, in a bar, through a freind. You just know if the potential to be together is there.

but if single people stopped just meeting for sex we would have more time to concentrate on fulfilling our emotional needs, rather than just our physical needs. Then the physical needs would come within the loving relationship.

Maybe I'm just talking rubbish...

Agreed, I don't understand how people can have sex with somebody they don't have a connection with.

So you just keep your fingers crossed they turn up on your doorstep one day, don't you have to be active and look for it?

In theory yes, in practice it is very hard to find love I agree, especially 'second time around'.

Haven't a lot of us done that though without knowing a great lot about someone.

That's good,I'm thinking that could be a bit of a minefield though, new relationship, jealousy and so forth.

True, but I need to at least like the person. Some people will fuck somebody who they don't like as a person. Each to there own I guess

Yeah we thought that, but we're both happy not meeting for the time being.

That's good, you have to establish your own relationship first, that's what's important. Refreshing to know you can find it in any place really.

I really don't believe in love. I do believe in having a connection and building a rapport with people and that's easy to do on here.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I think that some close themselves off in order to have more NSA sex. Love requires you to be open, if only to the possibility. Plus romantic love hurts.

Exploring You

I think the problem is now a days people aren't always what they seem so they show love and feelings for you and entice you in just to get what they want and then go.

Not saying everyone is, but seems like it was easier in the old times

I've often wondered whether if people had less casual sex it would increase desires for relationships.

Many people who are in love with a partner don't have sex with that partner before marriage.

Others of course still have sex with their girlfriend

It wasn't but I do think expectations have changed. Most people will still fall in love with someone who lives or works close to them. However, we can all look much further than we used to. The internet provides ways of connecting with people or just seeing other sorts of people.

little house on the praire

I do think its harder now but not because of casual sex.

People are making more demands(I'm not saying this is wrong. But especially with the internet, its like a tick box.

You tick all your preferences so it narrows it right down. Its fine wanting a 6ft 2 blonde haired athletic guy between 30/35 but you've also got to find one with your same values and beliefs. I know for a fact if I'd had a tick box I would never have met jay.

Also peoples lives are busier and they don't have the same amount of time to socialise.

Many years ago you where just looking for a husband\wife to get on with and raise a family.

Much more to it now.

But I still don't think finding love was ever easy

If you don't look for love how are you going to find it. Been single over 6 years now, I can't pretend I'm not looking or wanting a boyfriend cos it's all I want!

Very true,I think that's sometimes why I come here rather than a proper dating site. I don't always like the thought of having to sit down and have a conversation about my life. Food for thought!

It's having someone to share your life with, making plans, holding hands going for a walk, sharing the mundane every day things, being tactile with someone, being silly with someone.

Being single can have it's plus points, but being in a close relationship has to outweigh that.

Will I be in a relationship again who knows. I think as you get older you know what shit you won't put up with anymore,so maybe you do get more choosey.
