The return of the gentleman

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

It's time the gentleman re-emerged, it's time us men started to treat women with respect,

In the bar - Gentleman

In the street calling a cab - Gentleman

Cab ride home - Gentleman

On her doorstep - Gentleman

In her bedroom - not so much lol

Let's get back to a time when a woman felt safe in a mans company, let use maners, and be civilised life will be better for it

You shouldn't pick up a brush like that.....

Not everyone thinks the same even in a place such as this.

The lowest common denominator is not necessarily the one to use....

"What are maners? "

Saying thankyou, standing at the table when the lady enters or leaves, not pointing out minor spelling errors in a petty fashion. Things like that really.

Do women generally feel unsafe in men's company? I don't think things have changed in as far as there have always been some men in whose company a woman wont be safe but I don't personally feel unsafe in the company of a man or men.

I've always been taught to pay my own way and that includes paying towards a meal on a date. When I've offered on occasions the men have looked offended some have said don't be silly. I tend to insist on paying half when I don't think there is a spark etc as I don't want the bloke to pay for the whole meal when I'm unlikely to ever set eyes on him again.

I did say "a time when MORE females behaved like a lady"

All too often I see females adopting this so called ladette culture.gathering in gangs, intimidating others, fighting, cursing, vulgar displays of misplaced impression.all very unlady like in my opinion.

It's not just some men who have become ungentlemanly, but some females are becoming more unlady like.

I much prefer people to be themselves. Just because a man opens a door or pays for a meal doesn't mean he doesn't have the capacity to be a cunt. The same goes for women.

I don't want to have to restrict my actions so they fit into some stereotypical what's right or wrong. I'd like to be able to decide that for myself.

I got told by my feminist pal that i was sexist because I held the door open for her.

My response was that I do it for everyone, i'm just polite. Chip on her shoulder.

Not all feminists are like that though, but among the younger generation, that superficial brand of feminism is the most prominent.

I don't agree with the ideology in general, although I often agree with the ultimate goals, I do not agree with the dogma.
