Bill Hicks was awesome.

Brilliant quote.

"Christens are fucking weird they're waiting for Jesus to return, and they wear a crucifix, like the first thing he want to see is a fucking cross.

Like wearing a rifle pendant to remember Kennedy, just thinking of Jack".

I don't mean to sound bitter, cold or cruel but I am, so that's how it comes out. my motto in life.

Such a genius, it's a pity they all die young and too early just as he said in his act

Strangely, this is the 2nd Bill Hicks thread in just a couple of weeks...is there something in the air?

I was a little surprised he didn't come back this easter...maybe next year.

Even though he was highly spiritual ,he saw through the bollocks of religions!.

I'm not massively keen to be honest. I've seen some of his stuff, but I don't think it's as good as it's made out to be. Comedy is very subjective, though.

I'm a massive fan, but also find it hard to disagree with what you say...It was sometimes more about his resolute understanding of the human condition, hypocrisy, the stupidity of how we can judge but not allow ourselves to be judged [if that makes sense] rather than the 'jokes'...though sometimes...a lot of the time...they were also hilariously funny.

It is, I'm keen on sarcasm and that manic type comedy of rhod Gilbert or the crazy surreal humour of python.

But then the comedians themselves when polled found Hicks's to be the best stand up! I think writing shines through whether you find it funny or not,you can still see it's brilliance!.

I actually don't think his humour would work without his welsh accent... It gives him that touch of madness

Although I don't think Hicks's comedy was his genius but his ability to connect laughing too things you shouldn't laugh at and in the end his ability to make the audience think! Nobody comes close except for maybe George Carlin.

The funny thing is neither of them ever made it mainstream for all their talent
