Up North :-)

Always puzzled me, I see/hear this phrase quite often, most often from women describing themselves. What the buggery bollocks does it mean?

Some women can be high maintenance emotionally too. You know the ones...you have to be a mind reader know what they're thinking, wanting, needing every second of the day...and provide it!

Well...so I've heard!!

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

I have always understood it to refer to the type of woman you have to say sorry to.... a lot!

to me it's a person that views the world inwardly. everything that is done must be done for their benefit. they are ignorant towards the needs of others, so singular is their goal. i don't think they even realise it, they would have to view the world from another point of view for that to be possible...and they're just not capable of that.

existentionalism exists!

Cue John Prine introducing a song :

"This is a song about a man who has developed a special ability over a number of years. He's able to travel in his mind, particularly when his wife just goes on just a little bit too long about something he hasn't done.

I read about this guy, (cough)"

two verses :

My body's in this room with you just catching hell

While my soul is drinking beer down the road a spell

You might think I'm listening to your grocery list

But I'm leaning on the jukebox and I'm about half ... way there

I'm sittin' on a chair just behind my ear

Playing dominoes and drinking some ice cold beer

When you get done talking I'll come back downstairs

And assume the body of the person you presume who cares

a woman that cant make a little green washing up sponge last more than a month , or one that is too lazy to empty the paper hoover bag but simply replaces it with a new one

I am not going to get drawn in to this debate as K is sitting far to close to me

It's a fuggin plastic princess innit?

Can be financial want.

Can be emotional demand.

Can be tears and tantrums.

either way ......get out fast...

Lot's of male divas are high maintenance. It's not a natural trait it's a state of mind and people should be bloody well battered for pandering to it.

Violent Elizabeth Botts should be left until they skweam themselves sick and then someone should rub their little pug noses in it .....

Often used as a derogatory term it seems as in "oh god i bet shes high maintenance", but cant it just mean she has high...extremely high standards?

to me high maintenance means someone who spends a lot of money to try and maintain a certain appearance or "standard of living" usually on trips to the beauty salon hairdressers nail bar handbag/shoe shop etcetera etcetera ....there are probably a few on here .... not sure its a derogatory term tho?? everyone has their own way of looking at who they are and how they want to acheive that look ?

I have only heard it from women usually when they are commenting on another woman. I always took it as what the homely type used to describe a woman who liked to look good and who kept body trim and dressed to impress. It probably means different things to different people though from what others have put.
