Spelling it out...

Does it bug you that sometimes you feel you have to spell everything you say out in black & white so that it can't be misinterpreted by anyone?

You offer a viewpoint on a topic on here and if you don't explain your view to the umpteenth degree you invite posts that twist your words and imply things you don't mean or have no thoughts about.

If we were all to lay it exactly how we mean - in length - these forums would become one long, mundane trawl each day so how about a bit of lateral thinking and look at what's being said instead of what you think is being said, should be said, shouldn't be said, or not raised at all. eh?

Yes, lots of people do that, including you.

I know. I try not to and I'm getting better at it lol. There's been a couple of threads recently, like the one about the guy looking for tipsy girls and it descended into chaos with the word 'rape' being bandied about.

I understand that on political threads the posters can be fundamentally opposed and spin the stats to suit their stance. I get all that, and that's fine as any political animal will do it. It's the threads like the one I mentioned above that become quite sinister sometimes and it's so unneccessary.

hmmm yes, it seems to be a "lord of the flies" effect. People forget to read the OP and are influenced by later postings on the thread (which do sometimes appear to be purposeful wind-ups deserving of a wooden spoon) thereby increasing the likelyhood of misinterpretation and potential crucifixion of the OP for the wrong reasons. (Happened to me)

Whishy you have a reputation for being politically driven so people read into what you don't say and assume

I did have a bet with someone on here though you would be complaining about some of "Call me Dave's" changes and i wouldn't say i can collect on the bet 100% but your nearly there

Absolutely, because if you don't dip it twice it loses it's momentum

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

I have mixed views on this.

I generally use the appropriate words... like "some" and "many".... but some people (see I did it there) just don't seem to be able to read these four letter words. So even when you do spell it out... some feckers still can't read what is on the page.

Then there are those who make very clear statements (example) "I don't like prawns" and then go back and say they hadn't meant that and they are being picked on for their poor writing skills by the pro-prawn possies.

I often wonder how 'some' people manage to talk to other people in real life.... after all typing is just putting the words in the order you would say them.

Is that hardly any surprise considering that I'm a floating voter and don't neccessarily agree with all of the coalition's policies. Only an complete idiot gives full mandate to a govt to do as they please (re: Germany c.1933) and as much as I supported the Conservatives in the election, I'll be their harshest critic if they renege on their promises, because it was for those promises that I voted for them.

Just a thought but if political parties could use avatars instead of symbols, then i think the "Perfectly Formed and Displayed Arse Party" would walk the next election ( erection?).

Long live President Wishy.
