Has any one had experience of discovering something about someone they've met via here?

To my horror, I discovered today a guy I met last year has a conviction that, had I known then, I wouldnt have given him the time of day

My instincts told me there was something, but I couldn't tell at the time what. he was very likeable but there was just something... I didn't believe anything he said, but couldn't say why

Anyone else had this?

People can be who ever on the net and meeting you still lie to your face . For some its the way they play here . You can never tell really when its a stranger a person you don't know.

I know this, but I tend to go by my instincts and can normally spot a liar. To be fair, I did with him, I knew he was lying, just not what about and I can see why others that have met him didn't have the alarm bells go off like I did (I just didn't know why)

It's quite hard as he's still on this site, but turned my stomach discovering about him

I think most of us employ our own vetting strategy. We can't ask everything and let's be honest if we started with 'Any Criminal Convictions? Rape , Murder, G.B.H ? we'd be on to a loser right away.

They say yes....... we don't meet them.

They say no ...... then there was no need to know in the first place.

I'd be slightly miffed to find out on our tenth anniversary but if it's just for N.S.A and a one off.... let it go.

Then it isn't fair you are discussing him on here.

If you have some sort of evidence that what you are saying is true the best thing to do is report it for Admin to check it out
