I always light a candle on a friend's or family birthday that has passed... Something that has always been done in my family since I can remember

We did that a couple of Christmas's ago and the first one got stuck in a tree. It was wet so no chance of it catching fire. Although we were laughing about it it put me off doing it again.

We've been lucky, I let one go the night my mum died, it seemed to go on forever, until it was the tiniest speck in the sky.
