Ah but did you know,,,,

The father,,,, Jeff Tracey was born on the 2nd of January 2009 the son of a combine harvester driver on a Kansas wheat farm.

His 5 sons were named after the first 5 American astronauts into space via the Mercury space project, i.e. Scott Carpenter, Virgil Grissom, Alan Shepard, Gordon Cooper and John Glenn.

Brains full name is actually Ray Hackenbacker and he has a son called Fermat…

Parkers name is Aloysius Parker.....

I thought it was a good reboot. Although unsure why brains has an Indian accent. But all in all I enjoyed it

"I remember seeing it 50 years ago and cant wait for the new one but puppets will allways be best"

Yesterday, I, a woman of 54 sat and watched Thunderbirds alone. Didn't know they'd remade it, not a patch on the original, but I enjoyed every second and have it on my planner.

Sigh...I'm a simple soul, doesn't take much to make me happy!

The Thunderbirds' radio code "F-A-B", meaning "message received and understood", didn't stand for anything, it was just supposed to sound "hip". In fact, when asked what it stood for, Gerry Anderson once replied, with some bemusement, "Fab," as though it were obvious.

Always hard to beat the original. I think i'm sure they done it with "captain scarlet" also several years ago.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I enjoyed the repeats of the original on BBC2 in the 1990s. I think with programmes like this is that a lot of the charm is in the original being almost a period piece.

Seemed have some star trek moments in it, as in type of music n the way it showed the ships flying..

Is this supposed to have been a one off or a series? By the build up to it coming on m everything, i thought it was a series...

The original Thunderbirds was made in a factory unit on Slough Trading Estate, just a 10 minute walk from where I lived as a boy. It was fair game back in the day for the factory to get broken into and robbed of flash-powder and fuse-wire. Hence much fun was to be had trying to blow things up. All good 'fun' at the time, totally BONKERS looking back!

Word got around one weekend that the factory was being cleared out and there were puppets and pieces of the set sitting in skips in the road. 'Puppets' and 'bits of the set' just for the taking! Didn't think anything of it at the time so me and my mates didn't bother to even go look.

It's a shame we didn't have the enthusiasm to go grab a few bits because in practice most of the original kit really did end up at the dump. Apparently there is only just a few puppets surviving.

... and did you know there were Condoms of full view?

The speech synchronisation was achieved by having an electromagnet in the head of the puppet, it was connected to the jaw and operated remotely. As the chin moved, the moving parts were covered using the thin rubber of condoms
