Since FF7 has just come out....

What is your favourite "leave your brain at the door" action movie?

I am talking about those films that have stupid plots and ate just really unrealistic.

I think I would have to nominate Crank and to a lesser extent, Crank 2 (he was dead, but got better)

Commando. Decent 80s Arnie action film but the bit at the end when he take's out a whole army single handedly takes the piss a little

Scream was about as ridiculous as I can think of....Hubby actually likened it to watching golf on tv....

Just knew Arnie and Stallone would feature so why disappoint. Commando was shocking, far too many odd things. Check out the yellow porsche crash for example, drives off and you clearly see the crashed side completey undamaged in that particular scene. Don't even mention Stallone, just watch The Party at Kitty and Studs (very obscure for many reasons). Okay, early days for him and arguably appropriate for this site action wise, lol.

I liked the fact that the enemies kept dying but from different camera angles so it looked like there was more of them. My favourite bit was the air hostess blowing up the paddy wagon after first firing the Rocket backwards down the street by mistake.

2012....delivers a masterclass of nonsense where

the viewers leave their brain at the door..

And the actors leave their ability too.

Hard Target. Jean Claude Van Damm with that stupid long hair. Every action scene is in slow motion, and as it's a Jon woo film, don't forget the doves scene.....

Well if you want ultimate cheese, ridiculous scenes.

Look no further than.

Action Jackson.

Carl weather's, chasing a care down on foot and sprinting at about 30 mph, then punching a car window with his bare fist.

His catchphrase for the movie.

"one of these days your really gonna piss me off "

Titz Towers, North Notts

I really like Dog Soldiers, I think it's got a pretty good script. Good cast, too.

It is a brilliant film, a popular choice within the army

What about terminator 2. It's one of those films you've seen so often before that you can sit down any time during it and know exactly whats happened and be able to enjoy the rest. Perfick.

Lance Henriksen was awesome as the bad guy in this, but yes, it was as pure a John Woo film as Hollywood ever let him make. I'm probably in the minority thinking that Mission Impossible 2 is the best film in that series.
