My fone signal..

Ok.. My mobile signal is driving me insane. When Im in the house its always connected to Wifi so no problems.

When im out I turn the wifi off and put the Mobile Data bit on...and thats where it starts being a dick!!!

There is always a 'H' with a kinda up n down arrow when its working fine... But 9/10 times im blessed with a 'G' or 'E' and it takes forever to load pages or it just wont load anything at all.

Is it something Im doing wrong...or have i just got a shite fone??!!

H is the best mobile data connection you can get over a 3g network,

Followed by 3g, g and e.

This is dependant on the strength of signal, and data carrier in your area.

If you're only getting g or e then your data carrier is not providing you with a good network.

I'd suggest changing to a different carrier

I was advised by O2 to take on a 4G contract, which I dutifully did. Only to find that there's no 4G in my area and no plans in the immediate future for there to be any. They won't even downgrade my contract to a 3G despite me pointing out that I was miss-sold my contract in the first place.

Anyway, back on topic....

H is generally best for a 3G network. Do you have a fancy phone case? My daughter had one and it had a metallic strip on it that interfered with her signal.

Mine has 4G which is also not in my area. Its great when I go to Manchester But just going into Blackpool again i have absolutely no signal at all.

No fancy fone case either..

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Have you contacted your provider to go through settings, myine had me change something (I think it was from gsm to another setting) might be worth a call.

Go into your mobile data settings and turn on the 3G Only box. Your phone is most likely constantly trying to find the best 4G reception, which obviously isn't there.

I have to do the same thing with my phone if I go out of a 4G area. It certainly helped me and kept me from smashing it against a brick wall.

I'm on EE,don't have any problems but I do live in a town. Don't remember having any problems when I venture further afield though. I used to lose Wifi in the bathroom of my old house. Probably thick walls
