Liverpool

I've never tried one, but I do like deep fried battered haggis now and again, and am fortunate that a popular Liverpool chippie does them. #heartattackinabox And it's not a euphemism...

Sorry....my bad....I brought this thread back off the back of another thread that lickety resurrected about the north south divide in chippys, which came as a result of a developing debate on a d.s's thread on forums and what people had learned....or something like that....

the good lands, the bad lands, the any where you may want me lands

thanks partly to this thread and a little bit of personal curiosity, yesterday whilst out being luncheoned at a local Gastropub, deep fried marsbar was on the dessert menu. It arrived....two deep fried mars bars a scoop of ice cream garnished with a strawberry sliced in half and a sprig of mint. Naturally I asked the girl serving if she wouldn't mind removing the fruit and herb so that I may savour and enjoy the delicacy in the raw...I struggled I must admit, and if I may be so bold to suggest that maybe it was deep fried Mars Bars that Ian Botham was referring to when the phrase was coined.
