What's the longest time you've gotten out of 1 razor blade fellas ??

Me, I bought a new Mach 3 razor back end of September 2014 and I'm still using the same blade now ! So we're talking 6 months. I get a shave twice a week (most of the girls like the rugged look .. so I grow a bit stubble through the week ) The blade is still ok and gives a decent shave - Can anyone beat that or am I odd ?

What's with the price of blades anyway - daylight robbery I say

I tend to use a trimmer to keep me down to very short stubble. I don't clean shave very often, save for meets or important engagements

I have a thing called a razorpit . It cleans off all of the gunk build up and hones the blades . I think I had one blade on for nearly twelve months once , and I shave everyday .

I shave every three days with the Mach 3 razor. Hazarding a guess, I'd say I'm pushing 4 months for a single blade, myself. Personally speaking I find a brand new blade doesn't give the closest shave. After a dozen or so uses it shaves the closest.

Agree about the cost. Ridiculous.

Usually just clipper round ma goatee and have a proper shave very occasionally, use a Mach 3, can't remember when I changed the blade but it was still good enough to do ma balls last night

Your entering into self harming territory,surely!!

This is proper nuts,up there with drinking overly strong real ales,petrol heading,cheesing,mullets being fashionable... and that some can TOP your 6 months ... Total nuts..

I only get 5 face shaves and 3 head shaves out of a blade before it goes blunt

gilette fusion here blades last a while for 8 blades lasts up to 26 weeks

the 5 blades are also good for shaving elsewhere legs, armpits, cock and balls as less irritation on the skin

Im not complaining at the price of them either, for what men have to buy to what the ladies have to buy theres no way id be complaining

I think my barber has early signs of Parkinson's so I may give that a miss.

I use proper old style safety razors in a gillete fatboy razor, from the early sixties. Pack of 10 blades is about £1.50.

I can get a better shave with that, than anyone with a multiheaded, lubristripped, vibrating rip off.

I use a double edge razor with feather blades or derby blades lasts for about 10 shaves per blade.

Modern razors are a complete con. Can't beat a badger hair brush, decent shaving soap and a good old fashioned safety razor. Old style razor blades are much cheaper than modern blades. You can get a years worth for the same price as 1 pack of mach 3 blades..... New dog... Old tricks

Like my contact lenses, I change my razor blade at the start of the month. Although I have recently moved to shaving twice a week instead of every two days. (My face that is, I only shave down below when there's a likelihood that's gonna be on display anywhere.)

I don't use razor blades. I can't use razor blades.

I get razor rash if I do really bad.

I use clippers instead.

We go through loads but then there are 4 adults plus someone who seems to have moved in without actually asking!

The blades cost a few pence each, so it is daylight robbery.

There are blade clubs, where you can subscribe and get a regular supply of replacements: but the op may only need a few to last for the rest of his life.

That's some going on that one blade, I'm impressed.

If you clean your blades and dry them after use, you will help to prevent corrosion. You can also coat your blades with a protective oil, possibly using cathodic protection too, where you'd use electricity to sacrifice a different metal, rather than the blade.
