As many of you have read today, there was a tragic death at Radlett, also on 18th March another terrible event occured.

Tudor Lounge in Birmingham ..

Gang attacks Tudor Lounge swingers club in Birmingham, forcing semi-naked people into street

The three-man gang fled empty-handed after the raid on the Tudor Lounge in Birmingham on March 18. A man in his 50s was punched in the head and a woman was pushed to the ground during the raid....

WHERE WAS SECURITY??????

I host parties in Southeast and we have security every month its a must for me as a host and for our guest, a part from preventing things like this happening, it make the ladies feel safe, but really how safe are we, when clubs and party host do not hire security when holding parties????

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

"often, the bottom line dictates."

This is it. Money! Security guards would drive up prices.

Anyway, like plane crashes, its the fact these incidents AREN'T commonplace that makes when they happen so surprising. Seriously, I've only just heard about both of these incidents, and I've not heard of any others recently. I'm sure if things happened at clubs more often the Sun would be reporting them with glee.

Same as anywhere really, keeping your own guard.

I got hit round the head at my first party, the blow job was not fast enough

How much trouble is there at any other event not just swingers events despite security being there. Security offers a level of protection but it doesn't magically protect you with a forcefield of lynx Africa and airwaves chewing gum (that's what all security men smell of to me lol)

There's loads of fights, stabbings, murders etc every week at places with security. Yes it's shocking to read about it happening in such a small community but we would be naive to think it doesn't happen. From what I understand the death at Radlett was accidental?

I'm a single woman who goes to Party's and clubs alone, and yes I do feel safer when there is security and they are professional security too, not just a man in a suit.18months in the party scene I can notice the difference.

I think personally that a party runs smoother when the guests know there is someone there to keep an eye on everybody, they are there to sort out minor problems too, what happened in these two cases are very rare, I don't know the tudor lounge but if security I don't think that incident would have happened. What I've seen of security they are around it generally a teterant of any trouble starting in the first place

I haven't either. I have felt safer in swinger clubs than vanilla ones where there is security.

no more danger at swingers club than at a regular club - possibly safer seeing as most dont allow overly d*unk people and not massive crowds attending - think folk people watch more than at other places and become aware of potential 'trouble' early on - radlett party was an accident

I've never felt unsafe in a club.

And considering the source of that is the Fail, I won't even click on it. I'd take anything that rag says with a big dose of salt

I think there ate many more dangerous places....I've seen fights at regular clubs, known a rape, a murder, an attempted murder to happen at festivals I've worked at over the years...some festivals now have security and police up the ass, cctv, dogs, fortress fencing...so no amount of security keeps us totally safe..they do make credible whitnesses though when a fray between d*unk people breaks out as they are sober and it's part of the job almost to be one...so handy if you get done a mischief and need a whitness, that's if they see it of course...

People get attacked on the street, we still walk down them without s care...

I do think it would be sensible though, especially on premesis where alcohol is consumed...to employ a s.I.a registered security guard...at least at the door...probably two.

Not just for the security of the patrons...but for the public image...it's seen to be doing the responsible thing should these things get reported...a paper would possibly print something about 'd*unkards at depraved sex party assaulted, no security to be seen' on a slow news week....not good for the image.

OMG....Ive just read this!! I honestly cant believe what complete and utter tripe this article is!!!! un-fucking-believable!

Local residents all in a tizzy over the club being in a residential area and 'lewd' behaviour of people seen kissing whilst coming out of the venue...and concerns that their children will be propositioned!!! What the actual fuck?!!

I'm with them on the residential area thing. I'd be pretty fucked off if a house near mine started having 50 cars parking in the street and people coming and going till late in the night. Much better in city centres.

It was more the comments from residents I was shocked at...in another article in the mirror a resident is quoted as saying their concerns are that it will attract perverts and degenerates to the area lol. and the comments about propositioning children! apparantly the nearest neighbour is 60m away and it has plenty of parking??

Guess it answers the question about whether swinging is becoming more socially acceptable...erm that'll be a no then!

They often are - I'm just saying I wouldn't like it so I can see where the local residents are coming from. Not because it is swingers, but because of the disruption.

The tudor house is not, really situated in such a place to cause disruption. It's a,huge house kind of situated just off a roundabout, there aren't any houses attached or near enough really. I go fairly regularly, the midweek parties finish at 10.30 and this is strictly adhered to.
