The family is going away for a week - quite soon - to visit my in laws so I'll have the place to myself...which will be nice.

I had a thought that what may be nicer is if I went away for couple days too...to achieve a sense of serenity and wake up under a different ceiling for a change. Somewhere in the midlands ideally as I don't feel I need to travel too far - just feel the need to escape the hustle and bustle and embrace a little time in my own thoughts - with my books as company.

Any suggestions are welcome...

Do it! Pick somewhere that you might want a wander round or places to see. I'm doing exactly this next week. Free to do whatever you want, whenever you want.
