Quote of the Day :

David Milliband to Harriet Harman.

And did David Milliband, as a member of Cabinet, vote against it?

Are we allowed to say TWATS of the first order?

Trade Unions (members) also vote for the leader of the Labour Party.

The actual Labour MP's and party members are not the only ones who have a say.

Until, of course, they want to replace a sitting Labour prime minister, and then nobody has a say apart from the one who's leaving and the one who's taking over - as prearranged years before.

I wonder what Ed the Red and Davey-baby chatted about through the bars of the cot all those years ago.

Simple reason for David Milliband hanging up his hat...

You remember John and Edward on X-Factor getting branded as "Jedwood"...can you imagine David and Edward Milliband as the top two in the Labour Party? How long before they would be branded as "Dedwood"? Not a good image to present to the voting public is it?

But not on the older "block vote" system. As a Unison member, I can confirm that we were allowed to vote individually through the union. We were given all of the lies/promises of each of the candidates and allowed a free vote.

David Miliband holds lofty ideals about what it is to be a Labour man, yet he's turned his back on his own brother in pursuit of his own quest for power.

David knows that Ed is unelectable and he's distanced himself from Ed's leadership, but you can rest assured that when Labour lose the next election and Ed is out of favour, he'll be usurped by his own brother. David isn't a stupid man by any measure, he just didn't toe the union line like Ed did.

You mark my words here. 29/10/10

It appears you've wasted your vote all these years in light of today's news regarding Ireland. If the Trilaterals' aim was to enable Ireland to achieve sustained economic growth then it has failed abysmally - unless, of course, it's aim was to destabilise Ireland, in which case it has had remarkable success in a few short weeks.

Both scenarios I find highly implausible and anyone who really believes that an elite organisation with clandestine aims headed by Rockefella-type characters is living in a fantasy world or James Bonds, Ernst Blofelds and 'M's running around everywhere causing havoc.

It also shows a complete ignorance of world economics and how every country on the planet is directly affected by the rise and falls of it's neighbours fortunes.

If you really want to know how the world is 'controlled' read 'The South Sea Bubble' and 'The Madness of Crowds'. You may also want to research 'The Tulip Bubble'.

But, please, no more talk of Rockefella trying to take over the world eh? It's misleading, delusional and, to be frank, total bollocks.

Illegal invasion ? the UN Security Council rightly or wrongly had left the door open for the invasion to take place.

If you believe it to have been illegal then perhaps you should report those responsible to the Police who would then be under obligation to investigate the crime.

You can go for those that gave the orders or you can take legal action against the British Soldiers who actually took part in the invasion.

My International Law is rusty but I think the war probably was illegal - The allies invaded to secure what they felt at the time was stability in the middle east - what the young guns did not realise is that the arabs cannot accept democracy - they have been tribal for millenia and have long fueds and religous differences...

Ask yourself this - How long did it take NATO to go into Yugoslavia? And how long to go into Kuwait - Nuff said! It's all about money/oil...

Good post. Couldn't agree more.

The only thing that unites arabs is their shared hatred of the Jews/Israel. They'll always squabble over something, they always have and always will. It's in their nature it seems.

(I'm not being racist there, simply saying what I see and what has been demonstrated over centuries of petty tribal warfare)

They still needed to be fought though. We simply couldn't allow Saddam to enter Kuwait unchecked and control nearly 25% of the world's oil supply, and that's aside from the fact he and his sons were systematically murdering anyone who opposed his regime.

He had to be stopped and the only way to get the British & US taxpayers to agree to it was to present them with the threat of WMDs hitting home targets here and in the US.

It was a lie, sure, but a neccessary one to get rid of one of the Middle East's most dangerous men.

there are no comparisons, between the reasons, for the two gulf wars.as for human rights issues, there are many countries who have appalling human rights records.it seems that doesn't matter,as long as they're buying from us.not so long ago,the west was supplying, the taliban with thier weapons.they're still using those weapons, against our troops.
