Going on from the thread about mascara....how much would you say you spend on make up? I'm a sucker for make up and probably have about £2000 worth of make up...

Oh loads, I buy good stuff that lasts though so I don't buy on a weekely basis, I paid £120 for my last foundation cream but I've had it about a year and still going strong, I'm a firm believer in if you pay cheap you pay twice so I tend to buy good quality stuff in the first place

I'd be afraid to calculate my spending on makeup. I'm pretty sure I should have shares in MAC and Chanel by now though!

Haha I wear Estée lauder double wear and ended up having to get an everyday foundation as I was going through it like water and at £30 a pop

I never spent very much in the past, just used good moisturiser and rimmel foundation and powder but i have a much younger husband who seems to have gone off me recently so i am now trying to look better and use eye shadow and mascarer but it's not helping keep hubby interested

I have about £1000 worth of make up at the moment. Possibly more...

Worst thing is, I stick to using about 6-8 products.

I need a serious clear out.

£7 bb cream, £1.50 blush, £4 mascara, £2 eyeliner.. Everything else ive had for years and got as Christmas presents xD

Oh and all the above lasts me at least 6 months, usually longer because I rarely wear makeup

I'm kind of lucky I have friend who works on the beauty counters in department stores so mostly get mine for free or minimal cost.

Plus working in a salon helps get loads of samples.

Hope you dont mind my saying this but you should buy new mascara regularly as it can cause problems if its too old.

Yes, I clear out about every six months. Some things I just can't throw out though, such as MAC pigments. They're so blummin fantastic

Also avoid buying make up from pound shops as often they have been discontinued and sometimes years previously then sell it on for peanuts the pond shops

No idea. My day to day is Bare Minerals with a Dior gloss. But also mix it up with cheaper Sleek palettes and more specialist contouring stuff, some Mac pigments.. Massive fan of L'Oreal 3D mascara and Boujous matte bronzer.

Probably not that much really when it's evened out, as all the stuff I buy is highly pigmented, so don't need to use large amounts.

I probably spend more on maintenance, like brow waxing/tints, lashes, Botox, face creams lotions and potions.. I aim

to look similar with makeup as I do when it's off, and then no one gets any nasty surprises!

I probably spend no more that £50 a year on makeup. The maintenance stuff on eyebrows etc I do myself.

I used some vouchers I found when doing a clear-out to buy a new Nars lipstick. I usually use my John Lewis vouchers for make up but never more than £150 a year. I don't wear much.

Ah, someone talking my level of make-up. I use factor 50 sunblock as moisturiser, then cheap ivory foundation, powder down with talk. And that's how you get a corpse-face kids. #goth4eva
