"Convincing" its a word you will see on many t'girl profiles and its a word often associated with looking attractive,very odd,lol

You could look convincing n look like an old granny for example lol n that's fine after all being convincing is all about blending in as a real female.

if you can walk down the street n no one knows then yer convincing, well done.

im not sure ive seen many "convincing" ones,,quite a few that look utterly fabulous mind you.

My tip to look "convincing" wear leggings ,trainers tie yer hair back a baggy sweat shirt n push a pram with a few screaming toddlers in tow round the super market

I am 'convincing' as a man. In that, when I go out strangers often address me with male pronouns (or gender neutral pronouns).

I wouldn't suggest in a million years that I am an 'attractive' man. Certainly I'm not comparable with societies hyper-masculine ideals of male beauty.

I aspire to have attractive androgyny, which has somewhat different ideals than the traditional gender binary.

I have dated a few men who like to wear clothes that were traditionally reserved for women. None of them ever wanted to be mistaken for a woman, all of them were beautiful in their mix'n'match androgyny. Their long, muscular legs and their slim waists and flat tummies, but with a square jaw and 'male' haircut - hot!

It's all interesting though, isn't it?

Ahh, the difference between CD's & Tv's (Most Ts are beyond the 'convincing' stage IMO).

To be 'convincing' is like 'beauty'...it only resides in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, you can be authentic subject to your surroundings but you might find it hard having the kids, council flat & fags paid for shouldn't be an issue and even some NHS funded treatment if your really serious!

yeap,,I like that you put "attractive androgyny" as that's another word like convincing that is often miss used on sites like this to suggest attractive.

Me n my girlfriend where out n bout in Manchester a while back n this guy approached us ,nice guy very friendly,he was gay so not interested in chatting us up just a friendly guy n we had a few drinks,,,,lol then he asked if we where ts,,,pmsl,my gf was well pissed off.

I guess it depends on why the t'girl wants to look convincing . What I mean is , does she just want to blend in and not draw attention to herself ( such as the ops analogy ) or does she want to court attention and be deemed attractive ?

We have friends in both categories , and it has to be said the former is the easiest to achieve .

Once the t'girl gets into pulling mode so to speak there seems a tendency to overdo it , and it becomes less convincing .

Oh, ok...I don't remember making any assumptions on anyones behaviour so not sure why you felt the need to do your bit for TS in response to my comment which clearly seperated them from the 'convincing' debate.

Always easy to discount someones opinion based on a sweeping generlisation though...just what this world of acceptance needs to move forward. In fairness, a large amount of TS do go on to work in the sex industry & most male's experience of Ts is solely through porn so let's not be so quick to throw the book at the guys lil lady

I think everyone on this site is trying to convince someone. Sometimes it's other people. Sometimes it's a partner, quite often though it's themselves.

There are some truly stunning TVs on this site who are better looking, more feminine, more attractive than I ever could be.

Main thing is that everyone is accepting of themselves. Regardless of label or style. Without that then I feel you'd really struggle on here. x

Convincing is a phrase that irritates me.

1, I get asked if I'm convincing - got enough pics on my profile for them to tell me and also convincing enough to go shopping in Tesco or hit a few pubs at night?

2, a lot of TG use the phrase on here, but also hide their faces, which seems a bit counterintuitive. If you are that convincing, no one would recognise you.

3, I've seen TS who are stunning, but also a lot who are very far from the porn star look and only convince as a lady of a certain age, who hasn't made much of an effort that day.

I find it's mostly men who want a TV to be "convincing" so they can still feel comfortable with calling themselves straight.

I just like a TV to have dehaired and made a bit of effort. I'm not into body hair anyway and hairy legs sprouting through fishnets or a hairy chest under a silky chemise, (don't start me on hairy backs!) simply isn't a good look. Beyond that, I'm far more interested in the person than whether they really look like a woman.

I've been out with a few TVs, sometimes for coffee or drinks in vanilla venues. One told me she thinks I'm "bold". She made a lot of effort but no, she wasn't "convincing". I liked her and was comfortable in her company and found her interesting to talk to. Why wouldn't I want to go out in public with her? Accepting someone for who they are is nothing to be ashamed of.

Oh no, it's quite possible (as a woman) to be successful on here without and confidence or self-esteem. It's not necessarily healthy (though it does help some rather than hurt) but it's entirely possible. It's not even that uncommon.

A lot of women with low self-esteem use casual sex to self-medicate and on here, as a woman, attention and casual sex is easy to come by, (if that's all you want and aren't too specific in what you're looking for).

I don't agree with that.

If you are TG - i.e. transgender - then this is how you look *every day*. So people would recognise you, because that's how you always look.

I am somewhat transgender (ftm). I look like this every day. Sometimes I look a bit more feminine, sometimes a bit more masculine, but my face is my face and I can't change that.

I think some guys on here have a straight idea of what transpeople are. I originally had a 'TV/TS' profile on here, and I used to get guys all the time asking if I'd had the surgery done to give me a vagina. When I replied I already had a vagina but I was considering having it turned into a penis, I was called such awful things, all the time.

You just get treated like a sex toy though. A doll that they want to dress up like porn.

But even as a woman you get that. I get send instructions in the first memo saying 'you'll wear stockings, stilettos, lots of make up and no knickers under your dress, right?' and then I have to educate them that, no, I don't wear high heels, or dresses, or make up. Ever.

It must be even worse on here if you are trans*, the expectation to perform must be awful.

I've never read something so utterly wrong and insensitive. Insensitive to Jolie who is undergoing lifesaving surgery, insensitive to those who do not have typically busty glamour model proportions, and insensitive to transgender people who you are mocking with your comments.

Such very unkind words from a fellow human being. So very unnecessary.

I didn't think it was derogatory either,I was always called a fag hag in my teens,all my friends were gay and I was always in gay clubs

Every time I use it I get chided, personally I don't find it derogatory, more ironic but then I am neither fag not hag.

Tits and a womb do not make a woman, in my job I work with many cancer patients many have had mastectomies some double mastectomies they are no less a woman than me, I spend hours a day talking to women who feel having this op will make them less femanine and trying to reassure them it will not to read the above is offensive to me

To suggest someome is a transgender for having their brests/womb removed for medical reason is ridiculous

You could look convincing n look like an old granny for example lol n that's fine after all being convincing is all about blending in as a real female.

if you can walk down the street n no one knows then yer convincing, well done.

im not sure ive seen many "convincing" ones,,quite a few that look utterly fabulous mind you.

My tip to look "convincing" wear leggings ,trainers tie yer hair back a baggy sweat shirt n push a pram with a few screaming toddlers in tow round the super market "
