What do you think the most efficient way of explaining how to use the TV remote to a woman would be without having to draw it for them with crayons?

Hereabouts

Put tape over all of the buttons except the power button, the volume control and the channel up and down button

In this house the TV remote is the woman's as I'm at home more than the mr. I know what ever button is for so no crayons here thank you.
