near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

I`ve been single all my life and have never even got close to a solid relationship. Whilst you can count the number of girlfriends I`ve had on one hand ( ) the one thing that has always been at the forefront of a relationship has been the possibility of becoming a father! It just wasn`t for me! I just could not envisage me having to play with children to keep them amused! Also, but less prominent was the thought of what could happen should they become ill and me not be able to cope or make a stupid mistake!

Having a kick about with some ten year old plussers was OK once in a while but that was as far as it went. I suppose I just wanted to do "adult" stuff, messing about with cars etc. I also prefer my own company most of the time which no doubt is another factor.

I do feel guilty that I am letting down my Dad by letting the family bloodline die out

Anyone else realised in time that parenthood was not for you?

I went to Art School with the intention of being a teacher, then it dawned on me that I am not tolerant of kids

So, snap not for me.

Although a few years back I did think about fostering, but that lasted about a day until my sister reminded me...

I've also never wanted kids.

People used to say I'd change my mind when I met the right man. Because that's not patronising at all.

I love my niece and nephew dearly, but they won't be getting cousins from me

If your heart isn't in it, you've made the right decision not to have kids

Daft thing is, my job takes me into schools on a daily basis but thankfully my work can only be done when either the playing field is empty or if the children are supervised. It`s a bloody disaster to be stopped have way through the job as the children have come out for lunch and I`m trapped in a corner (best way of helping the lunch time assistants keep the little darlings away although you still get the monkey in the cage feeling. I always immerse myself in a magazine.

If they messed my soft furnishings, up for adoption they would have gone....

So better all round I stayed childless.

Mind ya, same for any partner had I met one.

I have no desire to have kids. I really don't like them, we have friends with 2 kids that I think the world of but they are the exception most annoy the hell out of me. Plus my parents were fucking useless, I fear I'd be the same and nobody deserves that

I think it's admirable of people being honest about their ability to raise children. Although I found it relatively easy myself,I can see how difficult it can be for some. You don't need children to have a fulfilled and rewarding life.

This

No one thinks they'll be able to do it

But you just do

The only difference is that these days you can totally avoid it

Never wanted them...when I was younger I thought I might change my mind as I got older, but it appears the battery in my biological clock must be a cheap one that was on the shelf in Poundland for years until it ended up in me

I think it is better to be honest and say that having kids just isn't for you than feel some sort of societal pressure to have them and it not be for you!

. This is. something I have often thought about . When younger possibly I was too responsible and spent too little time socialising . I was financially responsible but people do say that if you thought of the cost of children you would never have them. One issue is what happens to you in old age ?. You might end up with lots of money but no one to look after you . It does seem that those with the largest families are in many ways the least suited to have loads of children. They are probably quite happy to let the tax payer pick up the tab.

The pregnancy test kits have just never turned the tight colour. I think the future world is not so good for kids, so its better I don't. Adoption is great though.

i have friends and family that dont have kids- both my children are not really wanting them either - although i think for one this may change - me and the ex took a long time to have them as he wasnt sure about bringing new people into this awful world - it was never a choice for me as i was born to be a mum - but its not for everyone

I just don't think they're for me just not wired up that way.

Also have occasional bouts of the black dog and don't think I'd do well with that going on.

I've never wanted them either, but I think a lot of women find it harder to understand the reason why compared to men x
