cleanliness

Glasgow

A lovely women once confided in me that the decider of having fun at someone's house is cleanliness.

She has a look round, checks the bathroom, kitchen sink and cooker. If all is clean and tidy then apparently that says a lot about the host.

Thankfully my wee place has passed her inspections!

What do you look for?

If people inspected my cooker I'd never get a shag ! Doesn't mean I don't spend and hour in the bath before any kind of meet

I don't like going to people's houses for a first meet

Yet it wouldn't bother me if my oldest playmates places were shit heaps because I know them so well if that makes any sense

As working parents of 2 teenagers and owners of a long haired GSD, our house is frequently a mess.

That doesn't make our house unhygienic, or us unclean.

Not sure where I'm going with this, as we wouldn't meet at home in any case.

If she came to my house and started to inspect kitchen etc, she would be shown the door I'm afraid. It actually shows you how rude a person she is.

I'm meeting the person not their house!! it's not right move!!

So long as, the smell doesn't smack me on the way in, and it's relatively clean.

I'm not really arsed. I do demand fresh sheets though.

This is why I dont accommodate, I can because I'm 100% single but people are so judgemental, everyone's idea of clean is different, I think my home is clean, I have kids so its no show home but I clean and tidy on a daily basis, the though of someome coming into my home and turning their nose up at it because its not upto their standards then coming on here and starting a thread about peoples homes makes me feel it's not worth my effort and hospitality

Clean is when the mice don't need boiler suits and you don't wipe your feet on the way out

A degree of untidyness does not bother me but lack of cleanliness does - I wonder if people think there is a link between a clean environment and personal hygiene?

Both are important to me.

Ditto. My house is often messy, it's never unclean. A really minging bathroom would probably be a deal breaker, but I prefer hotels anyway....pay someone else to clean it!

Lol, made me laugh! I think I can understand where you are coming from but the I guess we all have different things that are a possible turn off...

But it did make me burst out laughing, the vision of swingers coming to the house and inspecting the front lawn and hanging baskets...

And then what if....

a hoarder is visited by an OCD tidy person... like they have had on TV....

They ll never get round to playing as the tidy person would help the other to clean up... Ther is no limit to the imagination here. Thanks for providing me at least with a real chuckle this afternoon

If anyone came to look round my house like that I'd be instantly turned off. I don't need to be judged like that!

Having said that I have been known, fairly recently, to be up at 2am tidying for a booty call who was expected to arrive at 3am

A nice environment which is clean and tidy puts us at ease and ready to play, an unclean one and a bit whiffy doesn't.

We completely agree having 3 children and two lurchers whilst been working parents means it's not a show home but a lived in home
