Why do folk get jealous when they see thier ex with somone new?

did their parents not teach them to give their used toys to the less fortunate?

I learned how to deal with this better as I got older. Now I have the very simple philosophy that if we were meant to be together we would never have split up. I see all my ex-partners as 'my girls' and I hope they are all happy and being taken good care of by the men in their lives.

I always wish mine nothing but happiness. i dont wish anyone ill will.

i've never struggled with the end of a relationship though...if it wasn't the end, you'd still be together.

For me, if I ever get a twinge I think it is a nostalgic thing. Remembering the way he was was we first met. I regret that he changed so completely but he did and nowerdays we are just "family".

No jealousy here, just glad if they find someone. Im with everyone else who says that if it was ment to be you would still be together. Have to say i have no regrets about ending/or having been ended any of my ex relationships

I only have on ex, my husband.

Since we split seven years ago he hasn't had a girlfriend. I wish nothing but the best for him and hope he finds someone.

He'd probably have more luck if he stopped introducing me as is wife!

My daughter decided to move out to live with now ex bf, usual story, he using her so not working, she working full time, plus second job, they decided to split, he moves out, she moves in a lodger, a friend of both her and her brother. All goes well, then she tells me they have kind of been getting close, am pleased as punch as he works, is a nice bloke.

She decides to tell ex bf rather than him finding out from someone else that she is seeing someone, he comes across that its fine, he comes to her place with mum, mum sits in car, he goes ballistic, smashes kitchen window, throws the wing mirrors through it, smashes side gate and panel. Seems its okay for him to be seen with girls but she isnt allowed and the police are now looking for him, cept he is not in gloucester so laughing his ass off at them

I forgot to say, that for me personally, i dont care as i had a lucky escape from both my last exes; one got married almost a year from us splitting, the other, kids dad and an alcoholic, has no-one, id feel sorry for anyone he is with unless they are an alcoholic too as he treats people like crap

Haven't experienced the things other people go through as neither of us have ex's, except for boyfriends/girlfriends prior to us getting together. Not sure if we could describe them as ex's in the same sence as some of you guys have experienced.

We've been together 30yrs next year

I like to look up on my ex's on Facebook and view their pictures.

They look so happy as well...........i must had made them miserable

My ex has been with his partner for about 4 and half years now,we split up 5 years ago at christmas.

I am glad he has someone as it stops him obsessing about me,wish he would stop asking about my love life as he is still interested after 5 years.

I very much dont want to know anything about his life now only where it effects our kids.

I hope he doesnt do to her what he did to me. They ahve a 1 year old child together.

I have pretty much been single since we split and have dated a few men but never much. Partially by choice and also not meeting the right one.

Am I jealous about him and his lady, no. She is very welcome to him after 16 years with him I know what he is like.

Am I jealous he is happy and I am not, yes. Honesty is the best policy.

Just need mr charming to walk into my life. You never know but certainly cant imagine it actually happeneing and really dont think I could give up my swinging life.

I get that too...my ex returned to his ex after our break.

when things are impossible with the children, it is my fault for ending the relationship as it wasnt what he wanted. he often tells me he loves me and has made no subtle gestures towards the fact that if i changed my mind, he'd be back in a flash....the fact he is with someone else who also has children make me believe i made the right decision.

i wish her more luck then him if i'm totally honest, i beleive she deserves to be treated better, but that's her choice

my ex walked out on me 6 years ago ....for one of my friends when i was recovering from major surgery ...i was crusshed ...but boy did he do me a favour .....its taken 6 years but i now have a fab guy in my life who is going to change my life ........you really neevr know whats round your corner ...all you can do is be a good person have fun and hope happiness comes your way ....and dont waste your energy on negative thoughts.....

ive you have never seen it try tapping (tapping.com) it put lots of positivity into your life in a very special way

Dont see the point in getting jealous. Ive never had a bad break up with an ex, still friends with most of them!

But its clear the new bf doesnt like me being friends with my ex, they try to be the alpha male but it really isnt neccessary!

It's good to hear so many positive comments. I wish I could join in with them but alas, every day my heart strings pull to remind me that my ex is no longer around. And no, I wouldn't cope if I saw him with someone else, however I would do my 'not coping' quietly! Still, onwards n upwards!

I'm not jealous of my ex just wish he would leave me alone. Apparantly the fact he left cos he was cheating and has since remarried still gives him the right to tell me who I can and cannot see!. Wish he would move to another country and leave me alone.

yes, even tthough i go out my way to not make an effort when he visits and even if i'm having a bad day, he will always ssay something positive...which i find ironic as he never managed one good word when we were together, he was excellent telling me when something didnt suit me or i had done my hair wrong though...

After 15 years of being apart my ex is still single. He once called out of the blue from New Zealand to ask how I was doing, I was shocked!

It transpired throughout our conversation that his girlfriend of three years had just walked out on him and he needed a shoulder to cry on.

He insisted that I was his best friend ever.... I gently reminded him that it wasn't I who had been a d*unkard a bully and a cheat, and subsequently ruined our 20 years together.
