Why is acceptable for girls to ask a guy's height and not acceptable to ask a girl's weight? Why is a guy considered horrible for declining a girl based on size but a girl turning down a guy based on height considered a non issue...

Isn't that blatant sexism?

Surely.... anyone not finding anyone else attractive for what ever reason they like is perfectly acceptable. It's not sexist, racist or anything-else-ist

Here's a hypothetical math problem...

How can a girl be size 0 and weight 20 stone? Answer..... it shouldn't matter.

"this is a serious social issue, you guys are treating it far too casually!"

What's the solution? People will always have preferences. Women will feel like they are being body shamed for being fat, men not so much for their height because men have been conditioned to be the ones who do the judging.

Basically, for a long time now, mens appearances haven't really mattered too much when it came to commercialism. For some reason vanity and insecurity never caught on with guys that much, but it did for women.

Plus on this site it's kind of a given that women do have the last say in everything because too many guys are trying to get into their knickers. I think for some women this goes to their head, but saying that even i prefer tall guys and am fat, but that's what i can get.

I think you're right to be concerned about being judged for your looks, but women have put up with it for a long time, they got together and organised stuff to tell people it's wrong to be judged as inferior or to be happy with the skin you're in, men could do the same? Won't really change the dynamics on this site i don't think but might make you feel better?

Well, height is height and weight is weight. Comparing the two isn't comparing the same thing.

If it's ok to ask a man's height then by contrast it should be ok to ask a woman's height. Why should one person asking the height of another confer any rights regarding anything else?

If you're going to compare apples and oranges, consider why men think it's ok to ask a woman's bra size but can often get funny, or lie, when asked their cock size.

Height and weight not the same thing. Bra size and cock size not the same thing.

I prefer taller guys. I'm very sorry if that offends less tall guys. I don't make a point of it. If I say no to someone, even if it's because they are too short (and yes, when I'm in 4-6" heels, it can matter) I'll just say they're not what I'm looking for, or not my type.

It is actually possible to decline to meet someone without singling out any specific reason.

Anyone who asked my weight would be told to fuck off, but then I wouldn't ask anyone else's weight. I have full length photos of my body (when my profile is not hidden) that people can use to decide if I am too fat for them.

Anyone willing to tell someone they are too fat to meet - unless asked that question specifically - is someone I wouldn't want to meet anyway.

Plus, no, it's not sexism.

Because it suits his agenda of how much better women are treated on here and how unfair the world is to men. Nothing we haven't heard before.

People excluded by other people's preferences, be that on looks, height, weight, skin colour, sexuality or anything else often find a way to complain about how how unfair and unreasonable it is.

Making it sexist or racist or somethingist sounds better than a teenage style "it's so unfair" strop.

I don't agree at all. I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask a man's height. It is important to lots of people. It's a dealbreaker for me.

I wouldn't think a guy was horrible for asking a girl's height. What's horrible about that. I am tall and believe me, I've been turned down because of my height. I've even had criticism for wearing high heels (i didn't need to apparently).

People have preferences and as long as we all stay polite and charming whilst expressing our preferences, I am happy.

It's chalk and cheese. Of course a guy may ask a girl's height - but needs to do so with sensitivity, and only to ensure the dress etc that he's gifting would be appropriate.

Don't get why your not compairing like for like

Because it suits his agenda of how much better women are treated on here and how unfair the world is to men. Nothing we haven't heard before.

People excluded by other people's preferences, be that on looks, height, weight, skin colour, sexuality or anything else often find a way to complain about how how unfair and unreasonable it is.

Making it sexist or racist or somethingist sounds better than a teenage style "it's so unfair" strop."

Should that not also be followed with 'I hate you and wish you were dead'? LOL

A joke surely? I would argue that rape is a serious social issue. Your problem is a minor inconvenience. "

That's kind of the point.

Being asked your height, or being turned down for being the wrong height isn't a serious social issue.

Trying to turn butthurt over rejection into a serious social issue by shouting discrimination may be a social issue though.

"Why is acceptable for girls to ask a guy's height and not acceptable to ask a girl's weight? Why is a guy considered horrible for declining a girl based on size but a girl turning down a guy based on height considered a non issue...

Isn't that blatant sexism?

If that's the worst sexist behaviour you've ever had to deal with - be grateful. "

No disrespect but the fact that you are short and are blaming that for not getting laid is not a serious social issue

Oh and people having preferences that exclude you is not sexism. By your logic you are a homophobe for not meeting men

I do get laid - loads. Im just highlighting a contradiction in society whereby one thing is ok and another - is not ok. "

Two *different* things! Height and weight are not the same.

I consider it fine to ask a man his height and I'd be ok with him asking me the same. Weight is a different issue entirely. A lot of men wouldn't like to be asked their weight or belt size either.

Women do get turned down for being too large, or too slim, or too tall, or too short, or whatever else, just like men do.

There's no sexism.

Why are you comparing night to weight? Do you not get over weight guys

Is it a none issue to turn a guy down base on size or a woman on hight

Possibility but the mods might object to that and it would result in being sent to bed with no dinner.

You can look at a photo and gauge someone's size. You can't really tell someone's height from a photo unless they're standing next to something that you know the height of.

I wouldn't be rude or offended by someone asking me my weight, I sure as hell wouldn't meet them though.

No...Its called having preferences, people are often attracted to certain things that might be height, weight, hair colour etc.

The thing we have found on here (and similar sites) is that its OK for some people to have their own but not for others, especially if it excludes them!

How about if we used SSR (Standard Sky Remote) as the unit of measurement for height, would that make it any better?

Actually I think it's blatant preference. A bit like only meeting stunners.

Sexism is gender based discrimination. Your height is not a gender. Is that simple enough for you?
