Alan Turing's schoolboy friend

Introduced him to cyphers to amend

Christopher Morcum sadly died

Before his own destiny had arrived

He's buried in Christchurch in Catshill

His image in stained glass upon the windowsill

He's buried alongside those in the family plot

Eternally entombed insciribed NOT forgot

He died as a schoolboy of bovine TB

He deserves to be remembered by you and by me

.

.

Inspired Turing invented thinking computing machines

In loving memory of the boy forever in his dreams...

----------------------------

I was asked by people who know the Morcum family to write this poem

It's out of love and admiration for a true hero of a past generation and his inspiration

Turing invented his machine who he named Christopher to break the Enigma machine in the second world war

Thankfully he was successful

The odds on anyone beating the Enigma machine were

90 0000000000000000/1

Pure genius
