To be honest I've never really fancied Reading either lol...but the only places Bastille are playing this year is at Reading or Boardmasters, and I've been convinced into Reading!

We'll probably do another...but can't decide which yet! what's Bestival like?

Thats what I've heard from anyone I know who's been! ...lots of horror stories! ...but it should be an experience if nothing else, and a bonus if better than expected

Saying that things got ridiculous at Creamfields the last time I went...the day ticket crowd didnt want to leave on the Sat night and rushed the fences around the camping area. Imagine a horde of pilled up scousers all racing through the campsite unzipping tents looking for empty or accommodating tents to hide in. I had 2 guys try and bully me into letting them hide in my tent...I was genuinely terrified!

Bestival sounds ideal though...thanks for that

North west calling is a day-event in Manc and a mere £26 for some classic bands, many of which are also on at undercover , a nice mid-Sept event in Surrey. Rebellion is the big punk event in Blackpool in Aug but always coincides with school hols. Take a punt on one of the all-dayers, good value.Bloodstock is the best of the metal events this year

I saw Neil Young at Hop Farm. The proliferation of older folks with rugs, camping chairs and mini gazebo things was unebelieveable - even close to the stage. It was like being at an opera opera. Picking your way through a huge forest of chairs to get out of the main area was a Herculean task too.

Sparked some confrontations - people jumping up and down at the front being asked to sit down or stop stepping on rugs.

A highlight of the day was the crowd around me changing the words of Primal Scream "Rocks" (support band) to "Pack yer chairs up, pack yet chairs up w*****s". Not nice I know, but there were some seriously chippy, territorial lit-laden buggers there
