How would you feel if you logged into Fab for over a week with zero messages in your inbox? How would you also feel if during this week you uploaded countless photos and/or perhaps put up a meet request and yet still received no messages at the end of it?

Just intrigued to see how it would make you feel and how you would react.

it's a well known fact, when you don't log on for a few days there has hardly been any activity at all.

At the moment as my profile say I'm not looking to meet new people I wouldn't care if I had no new messages. Nor if I didn't get any when I uploaded a new photo as they are really for friends etc to see currently.

If my profile were different and I put up a meet request and got no offers it would be fair enough but I'd be a bit disappointed as I get so little time to meet it would be a shame to not find anyone but such is life.

It has and does happen to me but I don't find it affects me one way or the other to be honest. Hard to get upset at not receiving mail from people I don't really know.

yes we do get a lot of mail but loads of the mail same old thing we get . Its just nice to see something different at times . Why I don't care and turned my filters on high as its boring.

I get a few messages, but not dozens/hundreds. I get a few fabs, but men are visual creatures. I prefer meetings via here to clubs so if a few weeks went by and I didn't get anything, then I'd do something about it…don't quite know what though!

Fab does things for my ego even if 99% of the messages I receive are bollocks.

I would question it! What the feck? Jesus!

If I didn't even get one 'Hi' or a 'Can we fuck tonight' message from some desperate bloke with his hairy dick hanging out of his pants (pic taken over the toilet) well to me, that's an indication there's something wrong. Very very wrong!

How can that not affect you?

It's a bit of a double edged sword isn't it?

Theoretically? I'd probably message people I want to speak to myself since I wouldn't be wasting my time wading through messages from chancers who are only interested in me visually. I'd probably turn my looking for back on as well so I would appear in local updates. If the lack of messages bothered me, that is. I'm not sure if it would or if it would come as somewhat of a relief since I am currently swamped at work and only really use the forums or message back and forth with people I know I already like.

Not for me. If I ever send a message I never expect a reply. And don't always get one.

There is an expectation - but it's built around the fab lore that men get no messages/women rule the roost etc. So you're asking us to hypothesise about something that we know isn't likely to be the case. If the dynamic wasn't like that then, again, probably wouldn't have that expectation.

It's normal for us to go a few days without getting a message. When we do it's usually from those we already know. Can't say it bothers us as we are perfectly happy to go searching ourselves and make first contact.

If we put up a meet request and didn't get a nibble, we would probably be a little disappointed. Give us 10 minutes and we would have gotten over it.

I've never had too many messages on my single female profile to be that fussed if none were there at all, and I really don't understand how people do get hundreds...if filters are used appropriately and provocative statuses and new pic uploads are kept to a minimum and not just put up to gain fabs then I cant see how anyone has hundreds a day to deal with, personally I think SOME just say that because they are attention seekers.

I'm alright with it at the moment coz i'm not meeting, have got 44 unread messages right now and gonna reply to one of them but that's it.

If i was meeting i would probably do like guys do and try to reel people in with topics where if someone replies i will message them and ask them for sex, or i'd be whinging about not getting meets, anything for attention really that might get me a mercy fuck...i seriously would beg for sex.

Sorry but did actually snort coffee down my nose at this. But in answer to your questions, this site isn't really even part of my life so I probably wouldn't notice never mind get upset at no messages. And as for not getting a reply to my messages.......what messages??? I can honestly say I have never messaged any one on here as a first move and I don't think I ever will

Of course it would make me question why and I would be surprised. Then I would remember I have hidden my profile. I would then un hide it and things would return to normal.

Sometimes when I want a break from the messages I do hide my profile.

To an extent i'd be grateful! I have over 300 unread messages which will probably never be read! I use fab primarily for the forums and club/party information! I only tend to open messages fron existing friends and names I recognise from the forums! Tbh I meet more from the forums and clubs/parties now than I do from general messaging! Xx

I've seen women complain on these forums about the number of messages they get, when clicking on their profile you see the most desperate, fab-begging, attention-seeking status updates that are clearly designed to attract exactly those messages. If that's how you want to draw attention to yourself fine, but don't then complain about that attention!

I have a good variety of pics on my profile that actually show what i look like so they don't have to guess. My profile isn't fussy or making any demands (when it's a proper profile and not like it is now), and i usually put something funny on it too. I know HOW to make myself appealing, which isn't that hard really, so i also don't put anything on my profile that has the potential to put men off, apart from my pics maybe but i can't help giving an honest representation of myself in them lol.

I've had flings with a fair amount of guys just off game sites years ago and i wasn't even looking for anyone on them...seems guys will look for relationships or sex on just about any site, obviously more so on a site like this and on dating sites.

It's not hard to become popular on any social site or in real life either. You just have to be approachable or at least look like you are, and not be off putting. That really is all it takes.

I'm sure when some people are talking about the amount of messages they have they are talking about a few days worth of messages and not just about the ones sent that day.

Forgot i did have something about i don't reply to any messages so that should put guys off but instead they'd say something like i know you don't reply but' or 'i'm not expecting a reply but i had to message you blah'...

That would be a usual week for me. I don't really get messages. I get winks but I don't look at them. I have put up meet requests and had no response. It is what it is.

When I send messages I get messages back.

I get hundreds of messages a day and quite a few fans on my photos too.

If neither of these happened I'd think all men have died. Or they'd found a way to finally Fuck themselves so they didn't need women anymore.
