No you are right they have that computer in front of them, and they ask you what's wrong, you're the one who went to medical school, you tell me, I bet they Google it lol

Central

Find a good one if you're having issues. Shop around and ask people for a recommendation.

That apostrophe is not appropriate in the title. Just saying.

They're really good at reading pre-prescribed numbers and figures that they've had to remember but as soon as they need to analyse a patient or a situation they have no clue

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

I wouldn't know I only see a GP every two years once they hold me to ransom and refuse to give me my meds any more......

If I am sick and call for an appointment there is a 3 week wait for one so I use the drop in centre instead - drop in centre doctors and nurse practitioners are very good

SOUTH WEST & WALES

My GP is all I need her to be. If I can't get an appointment to see her for 3 weeks, I don't see that as failure to assess my medical condition, but failure of the practice manager/system to meet patient demand.

GP practices are good it's just the sheer anon of volume that can be difficult to process. Plus with the elderly population growing and chronic conditions on the rise the demands are becoming greater.

It is still the post popular training position for newly qualified medics out there.

What patients something forget is Doctors are human too, they don't know everything but believe me they try very hard to deliver excellent care.

You can not have a healthcare system which is target driven and yet try to achieve excellent care, at some point you tip the scales.

Clifford Mann did an excellent interview on why people choose A&E over there GP on the Politics show...it's worth a watch.

Just my opinion

Just you. Mine is great. Spent a lot of time working with me recently after some abnormal bleeding. My previous dr was great too before he retired. Wouldn't sugar coat things as he knew I wasn't stupid.

I rarely go to my gp but when I do I come away reassured.

The receptionists are a different matter though lol

My GP is excellent. Find another practice. Not a job I could do, I'd want to punch someone after about ten minutes.

My practice is good, but having to call at 8am for an appointment is a pain. I understand why they do it, but sometimes you can't get though until 8:30 / 8:40.

Sometimes the receptionists can be a bit rude.

I asked for a telephone appointment last Wednesday to get some results, the first appointment available was yesterday. Glad it wasn't urgent.

South East Midlands NOT

My current GP is excellent. After 10 years of living with a problem and other GPs refusing to refer me to a specialist, she did so immediately and withing 3 months I had a diagnosis and treatment. When I wanted to change my treatment she went through the pros and cons of all the options with me. She must be superwoman to have all that information in here head!
